The AP V3.0 Hey guys and gals, have a look at the pretty new AP V3.0 The interface and screen are much improved! We're a COBB approved dealer and will be purchasing a few of these to have on hand. http://pages.cobbtuning.com/V3-July-...Madj2LgPWBc%3D http://pages.cobbtuning.com/rs/newva...p3-maz-002.jpg http://pages.cobbtuning.com/rs/newva...s/2-gauges.jpg |
Awesome! I knew I waited too long to buy an AP for a reason! |
nice |
"The V3 now supports up to 6 fully customizable gauges with 1/1000 resolution. Monitor all the parameters you want to see and customize each layout for street, strip or track." Win^ |
I'd only get if they buy mine back. |
Screen brightness in the sun? Zigatapatalka |
nb4 old aps 4sale everywhere |

So... Anyone selling their old one in Va?! |

Is it still powered by the obd2 port? I didn't think that there was much power available on the port. It's why I was wondering about the screen. Zigatapatalka |
Yea this thing is AMAZING looking. Multiple parameter viewing, crisp resolution... 650 on top of the money i spent for the first AP makes me sad in the pants :( |

Just to add, they are not going to discontinue the V2 AP. It will still tune the car, log, etc. just fine. What you are getting here is the bigger screen and multiple parameter viewing. |
Sigh....Guess Cobb got me for another 6 hunid. |
I have the number 13 AP ever...and I've been hanging onto it as long as possible...but for this... for this, I may have to give it up. This V3 looks amazing. |
This seems really cool. Maybe some vendors will have them on sale ;). |
There goes any chance of them fixing the always on issue of the current version...damn. The new one had better have an auto-off feature, if they expect you to turn the thing off manually every time then that's just sad... |

I really hope they do a buy back or upgrade option. Would be really shitty if they didn't, but Cobb is usually good with that stuff. |
itd be great if they had another upgrade special for the v2 owners..like send them a v2 and some $$ get a blank v3 to load maps on..or im jus being cheap idk lol |
V2 resale just went to $8 |
I need one of these! |
Wow. Definitely looks good. |
How much to ship to south africa Sent from my iPhone 4S using Tapatalk |

God damn Cobb, in the last 2 weeks I bought the Torque App for my phone, plus the mazda PIDS, plus a splitter cable and OBD2 bluetooth dongle. Not to mention a mount for the ap. Now its all usless. |
Shit if cobb does a buyback or upgrade I am sure they will give you atleast $400 maybe more towards the V3. Did they do the buyback for V1 to V2? |
Ok, so COBB was not too clear on this being confidential so word got out. The launch date has been move to tomorrow, July 23, 2013. |
Oh fuck...shits gonna get real. |
really cool looking but unless they do a really good buyback i am completely fine using my boost gauge and aeroforce interceptor |
$$$$ ?????? SAME PRICE !! |
$650 |
lol, 2 AP's just posted for sale. |
What I am not seeing but can be a software upgrade are warnings for the different displayed parameters. |
Wow. I really hope they do a buyback... This is 10x better than the v2b. |
Im selling myne to buy this lmao Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 2 |

Price point? Str8 Tapping |
$650 retail. |
Hopefully there is a buyback for this |
I think the 2 versions have a different customer in mind. Some people want to flash and forget while others love to monitor constantly. For those that don't care for looking or installing this in their car, the V2 and the V3 can coexist for different customers with different needs/wants. |
I think there will be a buyback cause it makes sense for them. I bet thier incremental cost for these is low compared to the cost they sink in to developing the software and cracking the ECUs. For every used one that sells, they lose $$ compared to someone buying a new one, since the real value is in the license, not the hardware. Simpler, if they sell you a $650 one with their incremental cost of $200, they make $450 today, but lost $450 tomorrow cause someone bought yours used instead of buying new. If they sell you a $200 V3 if you trade in your V2, they make no money today, but make $450 tomorrow cause that someone bought new because used wasn't available. If they sell you a $300 V3 if you trade in your V2, they make $100 today and $450 tomorrow. It's a sliding scale, at $450 credit, everyone upgrading probably trades in. At $250 credit to upgrade, nobody does, electing instead to resale. Obviously they are better off with a buyback at some credit, over $250 per AP. And let's face it, they have the mazda market pretty well cornered everyone needs tuned, and you can still be tuned with a V2. Every used AP that hits the used market is a new sale that doesn't happen cause there is not really a competing solution in terms of marketshare. Zigatapatalka |
Wow, a nice looking soluion. Good for the gen 2 guys to finally have a monitoring solution. I'll save my pennies though, and keep my DH. Because, Gen Winning. trololol. |
I'd love to know if it can display the 6 parameters horizontal |

Came up. +1 for @breakfstincluded; for beating my Youtube reference but no embedz sooooo I retract my point sir. |
I'd buy if it was wireless. fucking hate my cables. Or you could just get a little bitty laptop and passthrough current AP |
Jesus...no ones ever happy. |
Pure sex, love the screens and some very much needed improvements and functions especially for gen2 owners. I will buy if they have a trade in program. |

The "used" marketplace is an issue for any company and product when the product does not lose value quickly due to either wear/tear or functionality. Electronics rarely suffer from physical wear and tear and vehicle ECU pass-through flashing retains the same protocols over many years. Imagine where the computer market would be without software that always "pushes" the need for higher hardware requirements. However while the main functionality of the AP remains the same in terms of flashing, the added display functionality is worth a certain price. Without removing used/old APs from the marketplace their price will drop to the point that they will still exchange hands. |
I just don't see them offering a trade in program. Maybe a lower price point on the V2 to compete with the used market better is all. New one is nice, but I'll be sticking with my DashHawk and V2 for awhile I guess. |
@Lex; I received some information from a pretty reliable source that deals with cobb heavily on the subaru side, was wondering if you can confirm this. The release date was adjusted to tomorrow, but I was told that is for PRE ORDERS only and they still will not be shipping until Aug 1st. |
If I had the V3 I definitly wouldn't leave it mounted when I leave the car. Some Stanced Subaru meth addict will probably see it try to make some money, or not realize we don't have the same ECU. Opposed to my somewhat ancient looking DH that I just leave there 24/7 and people think it has the same display as indiglo watches. |

Then again, I live in the ghetto. |
i'm definitely in on group buy and trade in program. this looks amazing. |
If everything said is true including the buy back, I will buy this sum bitch as soon as its released. Especially if the rumor about changing launch control and ffs on the fly is true... Fuck you Cobb fuck you.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2 |
I'm down to upgrade just for the faster flash. Rest is icing. |
Once these get out more, it would be cool if someone could confirm if they will work with a splitter in tandem with an Aeroforce Interceptor. I know that people said an OBDII splitter did not work with the v2 and interceptor. I would really like to be able to have multiple parameters monitored with a min/max value which is a feature the interceptor does not have. Of course, I would have a hard time spending the extra money unless some sort of rebate was offered on the v2's. Good job Cobb, this thing looks sweet. |

but I want now!!!! |
Damn that looks awesome. Here's another hoping for a buyback deal |
I'm in on the buyback also. tapatalk isn't texting so tapatalk isn't illegal |

I haven't seen any specs on how much faster, but I'm hoping for at least half the current flash time. |

I work in networking and wireless is not stable enough for me to want it to be writing data to my ECU, one bit gets mixed up or whatnot bricked ecu. There are ways you could make there that doesnt happen but i would imagine it would be slower reflashing than just plugging in and doing it that way. I like cables lol |
Damn, I love this v3. Time to sell my AP and upgrade...if only I had $200 extra bucks to cover the rest after I sold it... :banghead: |

For 250$ I can trade in.... for more, no way. mazda AP have a very high resale value here. |

True, it'd be hard to beat just reselling here and getting a new AP, even with the convenience that trading in would offer. Looks way sexy though Cobb can't wait to get my hands on one next year. |
