Product Release: Stratified shift extension and knob!

Although it might seem counter-intuitive that a longer shifter actually helps with shifting, once you try this out; it's clear how much smoother and direct everything becomes.

I recently had bank-hart shoulder surgery and pondered on the idea if this product would help. I patiently waited for Stratified to release this product and purchased this the day of release. Upon pulling out of the box the finish is top notch and I liked how the shift knob was heavier than my old Cobb. I installed it the same day, but I couldn't drive just yet. My buddies who were driving for me because I was also getting a tune from Stratified complimented every detail about the extension and knob. They flat out said it looked cool! Well finally 6/11/2013 my doctor released the ok to drive. Came home that same day and I wanted to drive. It's 98 degrees outside and I touched my hand on the Stratified knob and it was not hot. Driving around town required little effort for me to shift because I could rest my elbow on my armrest and just flick between shifts. Thanks Stratified for making such a awesome product!

I think we will still have these then. The knobs are the ones in shorter supply if you wanted one included.

Definitely a worthwhile purchase. Very nice improvement and happy with the knob as well. Still some roughness for me though, so I ordered the modified shift forks. Wish those could be as easy to install as the extender.

I usually opt for the big heavy knobs and keep them as short as possible. I went from a TWM Big TypeR to the Stratified extension + knob and I am very pleased. The quality is excellent as to be expected and shifting is much crisper. Additionally I find that I no longer have my usual habit of accidentally pushing down on the shifter while shifting. Nice job Alex!

Yes there are some still left.

The throws are not drastically increased. The extension itself is 3.25" long and it threads down to the boot.

Paired with a TWM Big Type R

I messed with it for about 10-15 min to get it to line up and still havent had a chance, for some reason I cant get my shift pattern to line of correctly at the same time as the "stratified" logo. Ill have to get some more patience lol

At the moment I have a washer under the extender so that my shift knob pattern lines up correct, I am super OCD and hate when its not lined up.

Thanks for pics and review. There is some squish in the shift boot and you can use this to line it up. You can also use a bit of blue loctite on the shifter threads to keep it lined up if it is not 100% snug against the boot.

How's the shifting?

So far so good.

2nd to 3rd still has that I'm not sure if its in 3rd yet while FFS still lol.

Bump for pics of awesomeness! I expected this only on Friday (as estimated by the tracking) and got it this morning, right on my birthday!

First impression: The height is PERFECT... It's right beside the steering wheel where I wanted it. With the stock counterweight removed, the knob (426g) and extention (75g) combined offer crisp, flawless shifting. The only negative offset is longer throws and this even with a SSP. I guess I have to patiently wait for Corksport's full replacement.

Another plus: Made in Canada ftw! I know on which door I'm knocking when comes the time for a Etune...

Doing everything I can to improve shifting in this car. Installed twm full replacement but now I have to reach into the transmission to change gears. I'm thinking this extender and jbr's cylindrical shift knob would be a good pair.

Just got the new knob and extender a few days ago, and finally installed it earlier today. That has made a world of difference in shifting. It seems to be easier and more precise. My wife enjoyed driving the car with it also.

Very glad to hear it! People initially think it's a little odd that an extender will actually help but everyone who tries it loves the ease of shifting with it.
