Stratified So Cal Dyno Day Signup and Info

2 Attachment(s)

Alright, after a bunch of back and forth here are the details:

It's still on for the Oct 20-21 weekend
Address: The address is here: 17336 FOOTHILL BLVD, Fontana, CA.

Alright Everyone, here's the dyno schedule and some rules:

Dyno Day Starts at 10am sharp each day. The order posted here will be followed. If your turn is up and you're not there you get pushed to the end of the queue for that day. The day should end at 6pm

**Don't forget to bring your AccessPorts!!! Those are needed to make any changes!**

1. The 3 pulls will take around 30-45 minutes per car.

2. The hour tuning will be 1hr, 1hr15min.

3. Make sure you have a full tank of gas and make sure your car is working well. If you are tuning with E85 make sure you have the mix in there and if you want to push things a bit further bring a small can with E85 (2 gallons).

4. There is some flexibility at the end of the day but if you want/need extra dyno time the hourly rate of $150/hr will apply. Bring gash

5. If you have not reserved a spot but still want to get on a dyno, come near the end of the day and we might have time for you. Bring cash (3 pulls $55, 1 hours tuning $150 but the spots are not guaranteed.

6. You are welcome to come both days and watch and hang out.

7. Bring water and camping chairs, come early and stay late since it's hard to judge exactly when you will be on/off the dyno.

8. I will have AccessTuner Pro there to tune your car. As a backup, bring your laptop with ATR!

9. Some people said they wanted a Guardian Angel. I will bring a few down (3-4) so if you want to save on the shipping bring $200 cash.

**If there are issues with the schedule posted, you have to let me know by the end of the this weekend or it won't change**

At the end of the weekend I will finalize this sheet in the OP.

See you in October!

I will keep looking for a possible AWD facility. Churchs was the one place that had it.

You can just lift up the handbrake :)

himurax13 08-30-2012 02:23 PM

This will be around the $50 per car rate.

1. Himurax13
2.
3.

B) Dyno tuning where we spend some time tweaking on the dyno. I recommend this only for BT cars/E85 cars. This is in the $175 per hour rate ballpark.

1. Ruben - BMW 335i
2.
3.

dale_gribble 08-30-2012 02:23 PM

It's ok @xI Leveler Ix, just do the front wheels on your first pass and the rear wheels on the second pass.

darth_speeder 08-30-2012 02:25 PM

if it's the 20th, i might be in for the tweaking dyno. :scratchchin:

ms3rick 08-30-2012 02:25 PM

I'm working that weekend... But, I will see if i can take the day off!

Fill this out. We probably want to do some testing on your car even prior to the day. I am flying in a few days early. I will be setting something up with you.

dale_gribble 08-30-2012 02:26 PM

100% in for A) 3-4 pull option if AWD dyno option becomes available.

I think our tuning session will be over by then. Lol!

Lex 08-30-2012 02:26 PM

If you're in, put your names on the list otherwise it's hard to get a count. Once I get a count I will be able to get final pricing.

If a lot of AWD MS6s are in we will have to consider an AWD location. So if you're in for sure if it's an AWD dyno put your name down.

You're internals, a test pipe, and a tune away from achieving 95% of the power potential on the stock turbo - and 99% from achieving it using E85.

3.

I am hoping that we get enough people signing up to buy out the dyno for 8-10 hours and then we'll have some really good time to tweak things and people will have longer overall. Thanks for the support!

Caligula 08-30-2012 07:38 PM

MS3MYK 08-30-2012 08:54 PM

Might be in, when do you need the money by?

Lex 08-30-2012 09:31 PM

Would probably need at least some of it as soon as we have enough confirmed people to secure the spot. Generally the sooner we have this in place the better.

Zbrit00x 08-30-2012 09:32 PM

May be starting an internship around then, don't know how lenient they are with time off so I'm a maybe.

Zayn! Make it work! I want to see your car on that dyno after all the work :) It's also on Saturday.

Koke382 08-30-2012 09:38 PM

im a big maybe too, ive been curious about where im at so that i can see how much more i need to do to reach my goal for this year, next year higher goals for this car.

krazycoble 08-30-2012 11:25 PM

I have to work Saturday the 20th but I'm free to dyno tune on Sunday if we get enough people to dyno 2 days.

SleeperHatch 08-31-2012 02:25 AM

Im a maybe for actually tuneing on the dyno

DickFitzwell 08-31-2012 03:42 AM

Doh - I'm gonna miss ya this time! Thanks for the offer - your car IS pretty awesome :)

@krazycoble, @SleeperHatch, if you guys are serious about spending some good time on the dyno, then we might split it into 2 days. 1 day for just 3-4 pull people and 1 day for full out dyno tuning.

I want to see more people in for sure and we can do this.

I believe Reese Tuning in Santee (San Diego) has an AWD Mustang Dyno.
@Lex

My BNR S3 arrives on Tuesday, assuming I can get it installed and build a decent base tune before the dyno day I'd love to have you tweak the E85 map on the dyno for me.

Sounds good, are you putting the base tune together yourself?

I usually do all my own tuning but I might as well go through you when tuning the S3. I assume you have a waiting list? Not sure we'll have enough time to get a good road tune setup before the dyno day but I can work around your schedule.

Thanks,

Thanks,

Check out my site:Mazda DISI Tuning : Stratified Automotive Controls

I generally don't have a waiting list longer than a week. If you see the tune available to purchase on the site, it's good to go.

Are you using a 3 port EBCS?

Here is a site that has a dynojet 424 awd dyno.

http://ocdcustoms.com/index.php?main...=14&chapter=10

Also Rage Performance in Montclair, ca
is a good place to dyno at too. I've held several dyno meets there and Chris is cool to work with. He has nice setup and would probably do it cheaper than most if you rent it out for the day. And since NHRA is over there shouldn't be any issues with schedule conflicts

Zbrit00x 09-01-2012 06:40 PM

I think Cobb was 95 for 3 pulls regular pricing. Don't know how willing they would be for people or a group to go in to the dyno cell to make tuning tweaks though

SleeperHatch 09-01-2012 07:39 PM

Road race in L.A. also has an AWD dyno

Galaxy SIII

Lex 09-01-2012 07:51 PM

That's one thing about the shop I mentioned. I know them and they're fine with me doing the tuning, running the dyno my schedule and has reasonable prices. Unless someone here has better connections/and or Kevin can get us a good rate, it's best to go with a shop that is very flexible and rent it out for the day.

ericdebruyn1 09-01-2012 09:11 PM

This is kinda off topic but their is a dyno in vista the place is called dyno tech motor sports or (DTM) I don't know much about them, I met a kid that works their a while back

I would definitely be interested in getting dyno tuned and having both my maps (pump and and e85) tweaked if you honestly think they can be improved. Also how much time do you think that would cost? Thanks

No sucking needed :) Based on the list you guys are filling out, I am deciding for how long we're booking the dyno. It already looks like there's enough support to get the dyno to ourselves for the whole day.

Send me WOT logs from both the pump and E85 maps and I can tell you how much there is left in the setup.

A quick clarification, the reason why awd and 2wd is so hard to do on the same day is because most shops don't wanna do both at the same time. You can strap a 2wd to a 4wd roller but the numbers will be off. Now the point of "dyno" tuning isn't the end result number but the difference between each runs, but let's be real everybody wants to get legit numbers so etc. Etc. If we can find a shop willing to run both rollers same day then were good, but last time I looked most places didn't entertain and cobb wasn't doing dyno days. However now that the big boss's aka kevin are checking maybe some strings can be pulled. It seems we may have enough people for two whole days so if that's the case maybe they will work with us and do 2wd one day 4wd other

A) 3-4 pulls with 1 or 2 maps changed between - dyno day style. This will be around the $50 per car rate.

If we can figure this out quickly I would be down too. I have to give my schedule this Wednesday and can't take both days off if we can say Sunday for awd for sure before I give my schedule I can request the day off. I really want to dyno not that I'm done adding mods and pretty much self tuned the shit outta the 6. Would be nice to run a few different MAPs to find my MBT on e85

I am not going to be coming to this but can offer insight on a couple dyno's.

James Reese is a grade A piece of shit that is going down soon. He literally stole 24k from my friend on an evo build that he never furnished any parts for so the DA is getting involved. I would not conduct any kind of business with him.

DTM's dyno works fine and would be a good place to go if they let you do all the loading and unloading of cars. There was a dyno day there a while ago and quite a few of my friends wouldnt let them touch their cars after seeing how little they care. They were scraping bumpers left and right and didnt even flinch.

RRE's dyno is a dynapack so everyone will get inflated numbers again and you are in the same position as church.

IMO this is not a dyno day for numbers its a solid tuning solution. I personally think there should be a vote that only people who are commited can participate in. Doing it that way is the best way to satisfy the customer base.

Lex 09-04-2012 09:51 PM

Thanks for the input everyone. Cobb did not return calls and based on the numbers here we can definitely rent out the facility in Fontana. This facility was recommended to me by a rally team crew chief and I value his opinion. He's worked with them and I've talked to them and it makes a lot of sense to go into a place that we can organize for the whole day.

For the AWD guys, would you guys consider pulling off the driveshaft for the event so we can stick to a single facility?

I'd like to put my name down before the end of this week for 1 day, possibly 2 at this place, finalize pricing.
Quote:

I've found a Dyno facility in Fontana called OSR dyno tuning that have a Dynojet 248 2WD roller dyno. I knew them through a rally team so gave them a call and they have the weekend of Oct 20/21 open - NOT Oct 13 which is what I was planning for.

The address is here: 17336 FOOTHILL BLVD, Fontana, CA.

Consider me in for option A if I'm able to pick up a DP and a standard tune before then. :headbang:

Go for the tune, it's better than the DP :) Maybe I can bring the DP down for you if it fits in my luggage but no promises :)
