Yes, you can disconnect the sensor or do the 1 click on the MS6. That being said, not sure how much drag even an electronically decoupled rear would generate on the drivetrain.

Povee 09-10-2012 11:04 AM

Letting you guys know, my cousin owns Tuning Technology in Colton. Lex, if you want call them and speak to Alfred or Jennifer and see what they can do. The have a AWD dyno. If you want I can talk to them unless you have everything under control. Let me know and I'll talk to my cousins.

Gotta pull out of this as it doesn't appear that an AWD will become available and doubt I'll have the time or drive to take out and put back in my drive-shaft just for a dyno. If I'm off the day you guys dyno I might still roll up to check it out.

AWD guys don't despair yet. I am looking at several other possibilities but not 100% it's feasible yet.

Povee 09-14-2012 12:49 PM

Lex, did you talk to them yet?

002hex 09-14-2012 04:23 PM

I currently have a mazdaspeed CAI 2.75". I was thinking of picking up an aeros 3" system. My ?'s are, do you think there would be any noticeable power increase, and do I need a MAFCAL immediately, would i be able to drive around for a week or so, and how would that affect tuning? Will I need both maps tweaked? Thanks

I think this should be handled in a different thread.

Yes, the larger intake will give you some gains although the MSCAI is a very well flowing intake in itself - make sure you get the full 3" all the way to the turbo. For an extra boost in airflow, get the AEM dryflow filter as well.

For the MAF cal, yes it needs to be done immediately and I have posted MAF cals for different size intakes here:

@Lex, since my 91 tune is done do you have time to street tune an e85 map before this dyno?

Lex 09-20-2012 08:58 PM

Alright, after a bunch of back and forth here are the details:

It's still on for the Oct 20-21 weekend
Address: The address is here: 17336 FOOTHILL BLVD, Fontana, CA.

The 2WD dyno is very flexible and we can do Sat, Sun, or both. Between the full tunes and dyno day 3 pulls we will probably be there for both days.

For 3 pulls we're still looking at $55/car for FWD IF I can get 15 people to sign up. We can maybe do a map swap in between there but this is mostly for people just wanting to get pulls in. Don't expect to get much actual tuning done. This should be fine if I tuned you already on the street and you don't have a BT or E85 tune.

For the AWD guys, I found another shop and they are quite a bit more expensive. We're looking at close to doubling the prince since they want 1 hour per car. If you AWD guys really want an AWD dyno and not do the hand brake trick then we have to be looking into this other shop but it will be more. The good thing is that they are right next door (Tuning Technologies) So I need to know from you AWD people but my suggestion is to just for a pull in fwd mode. @dale_gribble, @Ruination)

For actual tuning, this will have to be purchased by the hour and it will be $150 per hour. The cars that fall into this category will probably show up the second day and we can have as long as we need on the dyno to fine tune your setup. I recommend this for E85 cars, BT cars, people that really want their stuff fine tuned on the dyno where they can see the numbers. There will be a 1 hour minimum charge.

So here's what I need to pre-purchase the time from the shop. The shop is the same as in the OP.

1. I need the people that are FOR SURE doing 3 pulls to paypal me the $55USD and this guarantees your spot.

In the paypal e-mail I need the following information:

1. Your name
2. Your screen name
3. Contact phone
4. If there is a day (Sat or Sun) where you CAN'T make it. This is important.

2. For the guys that want to get full tunes and have a MazdaSpeed I will need $150USD deposit for a guaranteed 1 hour. Paypal me this and the following information:

1. Your name
2. Your screen name
3. Contact phone
4. Your setup and goals for the dyno. I want to know if we're fine tuning boost, E85, etc.
5. If there is a day (Sat or Sun) where you CAN'T make it. This is important.

If you DO NOT have an MS3/MS6 then you will need to have your ducks in a row and bring all the software and hardware that is needed to tune your ride. Contact me beforehand for this.

$150 is for the dyno + tuning for 1 hour.

The shop next door (Tuning Technologies) told me that yes, it would be $100 per car - essentially you pay for an hour. Especially since we won't be doing the bulk of the business with them they are not as keen to offer better pricing. If @povee can get a family discount I'm all ears :)

Also just put in an order with COBB for AccessTuner Pro. So we won't need to run around resaving map on individual laptops anymore. :)
