So what's happening with your rearranged ass?

Ah, got some confusion on this. The car that was rear ended was the car that Ollie was going to use for the mock up of the turbo adapter; not my car. He's in NC and I'm in CO so instead of me driving 1500 miles one way, he said he'd find a local. My car is nice and healthy in my garage and just needs a bath.

ahhhhhh :smashfreakB: You seemed strangely unconcerned for a guy whose brand new car just got rear ended... makes sense.

Update from Ollie:
"Matt just left the shop. Major kudos to him, he has the patience of a saint. Got quite a bit of stuff done today.

1. Built and installed a SS axleback, took video before and after, as well as detailed install pics. Ill put together a walkthrough to make it easy.
2. Same thing, with reso delete kit. I used the budget reso delete with a glasspack. Took video as well, and it really sounds killer.

3. Removed stock turbo, built adapter for Borg.
4. Built custom hardlines for water inlet/outlet. They will look/fit better than factory.
5. Took measurements for new oil feed and drain lines, they'll be very simple.
6. Built new lower FMIC pipe, to fit Borg. It's the same as my other sets, minus one bend.
7. Built new downpipe to fit Borg. Due to wastegate placement, I was unable to use factory/aftermarket std ST downpipe.

Ill post photos and stuff tomorrow, I was ready to hit the hay at 1pm yesterday, and my brain is more than a little fuzzy. Time for some shut eye."

NCspecV81 09-15-2013 10:37 AM

Nice. I contacted Ollie about doing somethings to the speed3. I as well want some new hardlines for coolant and oil.

Update from Ollie:
"Re: lower pipe.. I'll have to trade it out with you. The couplers you have will work, but I added 10 degrees to the bend under the turbo, and removed one bend entirely. I used my last piece of 2.5" SS and nailed it on the first shot. Everything went awesome, the entire fabrication effort only took a few hours.. I had one of those days where I got everything spot-on. Honestly, I doubt I'll have it done by the 23rd. I'll do my best to put everything together, but I'm going to bet that the laser cutter won't have the headifold flange done by then. I'm kicking myself for not buying a Ford gasket, weeks ago. I will also need to fab up a heat shield for the fuel/brake lines running next to the turbine housing."

EricM 09-15-2013 06:00 PM

Damn, looking good playa.

Chamber 09-19-2013 02:46 PM

Update from Ollie:
"Finished drawing up the adapter, parts are being put into production now. "

And for those interested, here is where TR3 is at using the same turbo:

Haltech 09-20-2013 12:49 AM

Good shit... Hows your fueling?

Chamber 09-28-2013 08:24 PM

Should have an update this weekend. Last hurdle is rigging up an intake. The turbo sits too far towards the passenger side to just throw an elbow coupler and have it line up to the stock intake location. Once this is solved, the kit should be done and shipped out.

In other news, got Eibach rear and front sway bars, Whiteline adjustable endlinks, and rear Eibach Pro-kit springs in. Should be installing the front springs sometime this week.

@Chamber;,

Just wanted to let you know the CPE Austenite's are in stock and we have one with black tips just for you :)

Chamber 10-11-2013 11:24 PM

Installed CP-E exhaust this week. Still no update on the turbo.

These just came to market mountune High Flow Di Injector upgrade set Focus ST 2.0L EcoBoost

SarcasticOne 10-17-2013 03:21 PM

Was about to have a cry...
But it says it goes from 300bhp to 360bhp... And we can support more than that already :D

I'm curious to know if they are from another vehicle (like one with the v6 Ecoboost) and they just happen to fit. I can't imagine they would develop upgraded DI injectors just for 50 or so BHP. But still, that is awesome for the ST guys as it gives them a little bit more window over stock...

EricM 10-17-2013 06:31 PM

Mountune is pretty gay as far as making power goes. They thought 330whp required completely building the block. Lmao.

The stock fuel system has shown its limits near 350-380whp. With these injectors, who knows! This is definitely good news, no matter how overpriced they may be. I know that PTP is developing a HPFP as well. Hopefully that won't blow goats though.

Matrix311 10-17-2013 08:59 PM

subbed - awesome build!! glad that wasn't your car that got rear ended by the semi.

Lex 10-17-2013 10:53 PM

For sure those injectors are Ford off the shelf parts from a different application. Just like the VW cars. It really helps that the Ecoboost platform is global with many displacement engines. The smallest engines will probably benefit the most from the bigger brothers. Just wait until the 2.3 arrives in the Mustang and RS.

Update: Build is on hold for the foreseeable future, probably until after winter.

Chamber 03-10-2014 02:45 PM

The build is back on the table, boys:

A lot has happened and parts have changed. I'll update later this week when I start my vacation.

ST_Fan 07-11-2014 02:57 PM

Hi guys, I've taken over @Chamber's build. I was going to build this kit myself when he bailed to finally get the Rex he really wanted for which I am very happy for him and me.

Big Thank You to @Chamber and Ollie@OCDSpeed!

I've waited almost 3 months for all the pieces to finally come together. As you can see at the beginning of this thread, this has started last year.

Hopefully by midweek next week, all will be in the car and the tuning process will start. I will update this thread with the progress.
I'm really only waiting on my car to come out of the body shop on Mon. and a new Forge WGA ordered today.

At this point the ST is proving to have decent fueling up near the 400 whp mark though I will be happy at this point with 360~WHP.

Once the tuning seems stable I will be turning to Lex and the Stratified Failsafe along with an AEM flowmeter for my WMI system and start tuning with some meth.

Here's some pics with all parts together for the first time this week:

Car has been stuck in the body shop. Hopefully I'll get it back today and start this weekend. Want to hit the track tonight to see where I'm at with full bolt-ons and stock turbo with torque limiting in the lower gears.

Whats up with the starburst sized hot side inlet?

kwittrr 07-19-2014 08:46 PM

Wanna buy a brand new gtx2867R bolt on kit for your ST?

EFR is going in today and tomorrow. If it doesn't go well I may be interested.

Yup. Fortunately the 2.3 EB will be able to flow a lot more.

Ok, teardown complete. I just chopped the nuts off my car. Good thing it's getting bigger nuts.. Haha

Anyway some pics in case some people may want to reconsider doing the job themselves..

http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/07/23/2y4y8u8u.jpg

Little snail on the right, big on the left.
The biggest difference is the compressor side. Less so on the turbine which should provide for some early spool, I hope..
