Got a question about the sleeves, i assume they are Dartons ?, how does the increased thickness effect cooling...I have no clue, I remember having a 400ci small block that had constant cooling issues (hot) and a friend of mine told me it was because a 400 was basically a bored 350 and the cylinder walls where extremely thin causing the cooling issues, on the otherhand I 've also been told the exact opposite, that using a thick sleeve would cause cooling problems? what is your opinion ?

Are you running a copper o-ring, looks like you o-ringed the bores, stainless head gasket then?

400s run hot because the center 2 cylinders are so damn close that coolant can't surround the cylinders. Siamesed I believe is the term. I would assume that thicker sleeves would act as a great heat sink for the cylinder, and would aid in cooling.
