Default Beans Above the Frank Build

Most people would go big turbo on stock block. I'm going forged block under stock turbo.

My plan is to go higher compression to compliment E85; 10.5 or 11.0:1. I will be using the stock valvetrain, with only very minor combustion chamber work and no port work. I plan on going PI, and I want to keep the intake ports rough to help atomization.

Right now I'm looking for info on a windage tray. PTP sells one, but I don't care for its design. I remember seeing another design out there, but I can't for the life of me find it anywhere now.

I'll be adding a parts & prices list and photos as they come.

F2 used to make a windage tray. I think they aren't around anymore and are now GP Werks? You might check there

You aren't gonna get any better atomization of fuel with rough runners; it's direct injection

I have no desire to spend money on any of those turbos. I want an EFR 7163, and I'm not wasting money on any other turbo until that EFR comes out.

Been crunching numbers on a BorgWarner Turbo MatchBot, and the EFR 7670 is looking good to me...

BorgWarner MatchBot

I know Geoff at Full-Race says the bigger B2 frame turbos won't fit in the 3, but I'm not sure exactly why. If you line up the exhaust flanges on the EFR 7670 with the GTX 3076, it looks like there should be enough room for the downpipe; the battery would just have to be removed for added space for the compressor wheel.

Emailed both Darrell and Jennifer at DCR and got no response about an upgraded VVT actuator.

My ACT clutch after just 3,000 miles. I'm contacting ACT tomorrow about the amount of wear I'm seeing on the flywheel.

Yep, it's the steel Streetlite. Funny thing is the pressure plate looks fine.

It's really hard to capture in a picture, but I can feel the wear easily with my finger, and it gets more worn the further from the center you go.

The grooves in the first image, towards the center were where my eyes focused.

But for anyone to pull their flywheel after that many miles and to have any response other than, "oh cool" ..especially for the money..is well..you know.

I don't have a dial indicator to measure face runout. I'll have to see if I can find somebody that has one to borrow.

I found the same exact thing when pulling out my street kit, with only 7k on it. I was very dissapointed to say the least. I posted pics in my thread here:

I'm picking up a dial indicator today and I'll take some measurements.

Speaking of tools, I bought a Ford & Mazda timing tool set off eBay:

Thanks.

I'm actually thinking of starting to build these engines and have them available to NATOR members, in a Pay It Forward fashion. A parts list spreadsheet like this will really help me make sure I replace everything I need.

I would most definetly fork over top dollar for an engine built by the bearded one. Few people have more knowledge about this platform then you good sir. Slap a nator price tag on there an Ill buy 1.

Question on the pistons...why the design? I thought Pablo mentioned something about that not being proper for our spray pattern?

These are a different face design than the CP-e smiley face pistons. These are more like the GenPu pistons, but with a notch for the injector (and higher compression ).

Shit, I wish I had the money too. All this cash, and I'll still be slow on the K04 when it's done.

How much for pistons?
What alloy?
wrist pin od?
And can they also be had in 9:5 CR?

Nice job having them designed for anyone to buy. Guess they're made by wiseco so they should be 2618?

@PositiveFabrications will have the pricing info and CR availability. I know we've only discussed this piston as being high(er) compression than stock, so I'm not sure about the 9.5:1. The wrist pins for our builds are 22.5mm.
