Cool Fobio's GTX3076 Full Build

It's been a long time coming! =)

Ever since we have gone big turbo, the MSpeed guys have been in constant discussion about "the next big thing". Here we are and we are now ready to share results with everyone. First, many thanks to CelestSpeed3/Paul for all his hard work, blood, sweat, some tears and time and effort...since June, Paul has been meticulously putting my car together. Eventhough we still have a few things to work on, Paul has put the car back together to the point where we can make some real power and reinvigorate MSpeed and NATOR Canada's efforts in furthering the platform. Second, a ton of thanks also goes out to BlueStreak/Dave for setting me up with his second built motor and sharing his assembly and tuning expertise to ensure this project progressed smoothly up to its completion and dyno. Without these two guys...my NATOR's, this car and the results would not have been achievable. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU!

Custom active oil cooler by CelestSpeed3/Paul
Custom Saikou-Michi 3-in-1 oil catch can kit designed by BlueStreak/CelestSpeed3
23psi custom MSpeed hybrid load/boost tune
Assembly by MSpeed [Paul & Dave]
All exhaust pieces ceramic coated by Quy's Coating

430whp/435wtrq with straight pump Ultra94
*The previous dyno was with the GT3071 stock engine build*





Due to a minor oil leak from the oil cooler and the fact that the dump tube needs a bit of extending, we have concluded today's tuning on straight pump gas; but there's likely about 10 - 20whp lleft with this setup. We will finalize the straight pump gas tune, then tune for meth, and might even give race gas a try to take it over 500whp.

Thank you MSF, TM3 and NATOR Canada for all the support throughout the build; all the encouragement and even the doubts have fuelled our journey up to this point and we look forward to showing everyone more of what we can do. Stay tuned for our next update!

I was shitting bricks when we did the first pull. The manifold was glowing through the header wrap.

Don't know if its readily apparent but this setup managed 20PSI by 3200RPMs. It spools hella quick.

There was tons more room to spool it sooner but upon cross referencing the pressure ratio to the mass airflow on the compressor map, we found we were comfortably close to the surge line.

Yes I used an Earls thermostat plate. PN#502ERL

I've had some issues mounting it to the stock spin on housing. At first it leaked like crazy and I figured out it wasn't sitting flush, so I grinded down the gussets on the stock casting to allow some more room. It had the car idling for a while and it seems to hold. Then on the dyno it got a small drool so I figured it's was time to correct it before it got worse. Maybe I have to grind down some more or it might need a new o-ring. Other than that I haven't seen any other leaks yet. I'm sure one or two will come about, they always do.



I had it timed the motor was running for 17mins from first startup to it's first dyno pull. The motor never saw any load until that, and that first pull was around 400whp. That's the way to break in a motor.

Big power numbers on 94 octane. I know all 3 of you guys (Fobio, Bluestreak and CelestSpeed3) to be meticulous and seeing these results only confirms it.

Really cool to see Bluestreak's engine building skillz, Celestspeed3's fab work and Fobio's tuning come together to produce one bad ass car.

The results speak for themselves.

I'm jealous, but wish you the best of luck with a super solid build.

This is the 2nd build so far. There are another 4 Canadian builds happening next year (2013).

I have no way to prove this but I think per capita we may have more built motors than anywhere else.

Congrats! The ultra 94 you guys have performed close to an e85 mix on the cars I've tuned in eastern Canada. Does it have ethanol content? How are you doing for injector duty cycle at 430whp?

What what I can tell its a 93 base fuel mixed with ethanol to an E10 mixture. I drained the tank and filled it with fresh fuel when we did the dyno so I assume its also some form of a winter blend. I'll let the other comment on injector duty cycle tuning is not really my thing. I think it was ~125% being an electrician I don't see how something can have over 100% duty cycle but that's another story. The tune had lower timing to from what they were talking about. I do the mechanical work and I called a halt to any more dyno runs yesterday. I didn't want to do anymore until I got that leak fixed and the dump tube extended.

Fobio is probably making porno flicks with hockey sticks like Bobby Whorr so I'll chime in.

- 430g/s by redline
- 110% IDCs /w .95 injector latency multiplier.
- 15* timing at 6K. Nothing crazy before or after.

Meth was not turned on. The car was shut down after the oil leak was discovered at the cooler.

Running braided line and AN fittings for the EBCS? Be careful with vibrations on that one fitting with a T in it. You have about 5% more IDC before the AFRs start to be affected - are you guys going to look into additional fueling or going to use WMI?

And nice timing up top for pump

Celest is in the Dominican Republic sipping rum and cokes and tanning his white ass.

The OCC has 3 "in" ports. The PCV location and 2 from the valvecover (follow the -10AN lines for an idea). The large top port on the CC is the "out" that is connected to the JBR BPV recirc and acts as the vacuum source.

Engine details. I'll be grabbing pics from my build and Celest's build as necessary. It's a franken-motor of sorts from our designs.

Head. Full port and polish with multi-angle valvejob.







Fobio wanted a little more done to the head so we removed it at one point and had the combustion chamber ceramic coated as well. This was done on Celest's motor but not on mine. I wants.


Pistons. Wiseco Gen1 forged pistons with ceramic coated tops. 9.5:1 Compression. This motor was built a little over a year ago which is why it doesn't have the Gen2 pistons.


Rods. Carillo H-Beams.


Crankshaft. Micropolished and balanced.



Main studs. ARP.


Block. Coated with heat dissipating paint.


Head Gasket. Cometic.
Head Studs. ARP.


VVT. DCR.


All together now.


Fobio wanted a more incognito VC so he swapped out the blue one for black when the motor went in.

Yeah. IM is capped off. The normal VC vent was blocked off as well; fresh air access comes from the intake.

The lower dyno graph is the previous 3071 setup. The 2011 date was the best pull on the 3071 overlaid on the new setup.

It's at Competition Automotive right now and will be disassembled shortly. We'll find out soon enough and share the results
