Default Boost Leak? Stage 2 16psi...

Hey guys,

I just got an AP and have a 2008 with a CPE nano and catted dp.
I'm not sure what exact mods I have on my car due to buying from a dealer :/, but I know I have those.

Cobb told me to run the safe mode map, then try Stg 2 if the fuel pressure was fine.
I found that I was only hitting 13psi briefly on both maps. I then discovered that one of the ends of the intercooler in hose wasn't clamped down - I clamped it and safe mode hit 13psi and stage 2 hit 16psi - tightened every other hose in the system, and still 16psi.

I attached a datalog I did from 3rd to 4th. Before/after WOT and the shift are highlighted in the csv. I have no idea if I'm "hitting my load targets" or not. A/F, fuel pressure, and knock all seem to be fine, but I don't know why I'm not hitting my boost targets in each map (15psi and 17.5psi).

Can anyone look at this and tell me what they think is going on? BPV leak? Normal? Thanks!!

DOnate and the Gods will bestow there knowledge....and also look into this. I would say get an E-tune from one of the pros but you need internals and VIP status for that.

FWIW I've heard that you don't hit the target boost of 17.5 lbs on the OTS map. The notes on the map say 17.5 +/- 1.5 lbs...which would put you at either 16 or 19 lbs based on the error. I am on a stage 2 OTS map and i only see 16lbs of boost.

Thanks for the reply!

If that's true, that's kind of makes me uneasy knowing that my car could be tuned better after putting all that money into the AP.

whats your elevation? if you live in a place with high elevation you wont boost as high..

i would still venture to guess that you have a leak... you are pushing a WGDC of 99 up top just trying to push 16psi i feel like it shouldnt be THAT bad. i know the k04 dies up top but i didnt think you would need the 99wgdc to hold 16psi. maybe thats just how it is but anyway...

check your clamps and shit. then do your maf cal... closed and open loop. then try again. then try upping your WGDC as necessary to hit boost targets. see if that is any better.

oh and get fuel pump internals

And I live in Nashville (597ft)

I will upload the safe map datalog when I get home tonight.

Well, I forgot to upload the safe mode datalog, but I ordered some charge tubes to see if that will help.

I also noticed that safe mode was only putting the wastegate to ~55% when I was monitoring it this morning on the way to work.

Not sure if you're hitting the load targets without looking at the map, but it doesn't seem to be a leak.

How are your fuel trims?

Also. Just for laughs, you should take your intake/inlet off and just have a look at the compressor wheel. See if anything looks out of the ordinary.

I'm not sure about the fuel trims, and it looks like I can't look at the map because I'm running Mac OSX and can't download ATR.

So I've been talking with Braden over at Cobb and it seems like I definitely have a leak somewhere, and it's not in the boost tubes.

Anyone else have any thoughts on what it could be? I'm really trying to figure out how to tell if it's the BPV. What are the signs of a leaking BPV? I can't find anywhere that talks about this. I've searched and read threads for hours.

I have the same "issue", however I check the tune in AccessTuner and its commanding 16psi. It's nothing to worry about, your car is fine just e-tune. Also make sure you have a upgraded CDFP. I personally like autotech.

PS I have the MSCAI tune not the cpCAI. Same $h!t different pile.
