im basically mocking what it sounds like you heard from cobb when you called in.

im sure they'll take care of that eventually though. but seriously.... that would be a living hell to have 1.02 permanently stamped into the ecu....:pat:

MPS 10-01-2008 08:53 PM

is there any way to remove it ?

dimaxxxl 10-01-2008 09:21 PM

That is poor customer service. I would call back tomorrow and make sure all the questions are answered. &00 dollars for a product should come with some service

Haltech 10-01-2008 09:30 PM

Ill send this thread to the higher ups for them to review. This is bullshit.

Cobb Tuning 10-02-2008 10:38 AM

Vlad, I tried my best to aid you in getting the AccessPORT to work on your vehicle and there was NOTHING more I could of done. When you call someone for help regarding any issue you can't sit there the whole time cursing up a storm, insulting them and a respectable company and assuming that will fix it. After we talked for 20+ minutes the only solution was finding another dongle to make the AP work or mail it in to COBB and they'll fix it and get it back to you asap.

I would of stayed on the phone until we fixed the issue but your ignorance was getting you no where because you wouldn't cooperate in the steps of troubleshooting the issue. Yelling profanities and things that don't apply to the situation wasn't necessary and not needed fyi. You can call us today anytime before 6:00PM MST

MPS 10-02-2008 11:05 AM

Yelling profanities !!! i was calm

wow dude is that how you back ur self up after you hang up on me ?

dread 10-02-2008 11:10 AM

so why are you ordering a new ecu? They can't fix the problem with a new dongle.

MPS 10-02-2008 11:14 AM

i don't have time for that and its not %100 that dongle will fix that problem
any ways im done with them
Haltech you may close this if you wish . Thanks

you dont have time?! do they want to have you send it to them to diagnose it? cant they fix it and send it back?

this whole thing is odd. why not just send it in and have them take a look at it. it aint like every standback thats ever got sent out never had a problem man.

they should have been cool on the phone and told you to get it out there and then theyd diagnose and get one back.

MPS 10-02-2008 11:40 AM

i was givin the ship back option today but it was to late
so whats done is done

kingpin748 10-02-2008 11:50 AM

Putting aside the customer service issue, that's unreasonable. Shit breaks. They offered to replace it the next day.

What else do you want?

Please at least do this. It will help the mfr. diagnose possible problems and help others in the future. Don't let your pride get in the way of helping others out there who may eventually share your problem -- that's just you not being a good community member.

MPS 10-02-2008 11:57 AM

where is that next day offer ???
did i miss it
i say read before posting

I'm tempted to call you an asshole but I think we are misunderstanding each other.

It broke yesterday and they said ship it back today. I can see how you misread that.

Now I can see how your conversations with Cobb went.

Lymerock 10-02-2008 12:10 PM

this thread is full of lol and stfu
I nominate it the most waaaaaa ful post of october

In the end, im glad that cobb is taking it back and looking into the ecu, would have been hurting yourself to do it any other way

MPS 10-02-2008 12:19 PM

yes sorry i did miss read that :pat:
no hard feeling my fault

dread 10-02-2008 03:16 PM

Am I missing something; you bought a new ecu instead of letting cobb fix the problem?

skeeter149 10-02-2008 03:18 PM

i think he said he believes that it is not 100 % the ap so he got the ecu to troubleshoot a possible problem. but i dont know nothing

....ain't that the truth!

MPS 10-02-2008 05:21 PM

its AP problem not my ECU

Call may be recorded for customer service use. I bet that would have come in handy there. I deal with irate customers sometimes. Luckily we record stuff, i feel your pain.

Harry

MPS 10-03-2008 10:42 AM

it's called if you want to play you have to pay
And why would I try to get MAZDA to fix that problem?
Also when ur cut for time you pay extra to get going
So if ur gonna call me an idiot for getting new ecu out my own money that makes you a tool for walking in to a dealer with a blown motor after u de mod ur car

Haltech 10-03-2008 10:52 AM

i like how we are all friendly when it comes to helping someone out.:hitwithrock:

bova 10-03-2008 10:54 AM

well you said the AP wouldn't connect, have it not connect does not pose a problem on the vehicle as I'm sure it still runs, you just can't flash it at the moment. so you wait however it takes them to fix the unit, i say a week tops, then you get it back and you are fine. you example of paying to play is retarded, because if you would have just waited you could have got the AP fixed, got it to unmarry with the ECU and then sold the AP since you obviously don't like it and save yourself a grand.

Unoriginalusername 10-03-2008 12:23 PM

grow up people... next time i close the thread vs. clean it

MPS 10-03-2008 01:42 PM

Thanks UOU

phillyb 10-03-2008 04:10 PM

hmmmmmmmmmmm, mps, pm me what you paid for the ecu. i'm really fucking curious, and where you got it from...etc...

HiggyMS3 10-03-2008 04:49 PM

K this sounds a bit odd to me....

Aside from what ever was said on the phone between "Dan" and the "OP" cause none of us were there to hear any of it so either party could be lying about what was said etc.....

Your AP stopped working, they offer to take it back and fix the problem, but instead you go out and by a brand new ECU????? Did I miss something somewhere? Will your car not start because of this problem?

I'm willing to bet it will take longer to get a new ECU than to ship the AP to Cobb, have them fix it, you reflash your ECU to the way you want, and then sell said AP.

Like I said unless I missed something about your car not working at all because of the AP something sounds a bit out of place with this story. I don't even own a Cobb product but why would you not give them the benifit of the doubt and have them fix the problem since you did pay for the product, and in the end if your still not satisfied then sell the AP after every thing is said and done. That seems to make more sense to me.

I Know Cobb has had some issues of late but it seems like some people are way to quick to jump on the "Hate Cobb" band wagon latley.

MZRDISI4 10-03-2008 04:50 PM

Based on the comments and actions from the OP in this thread it's pretty easy to draw an conclusion on who said what.

Shayne @ COBB 10-03-2008 05:07 PM

I'd like to apologize to MPS on behalf of COBB due to the way some of our interactions went over the course of his experience with our customer service department (which includes myself).

We have done what we can to try and satisfy his needs and requests since he has been using our products, but unfortunately there have been issues that were not resolved in a timely fashion suitable to what he expects of us.

I would also like to thank MPS for maintaining a respectable attitude about everything that has happened with us on these forums (aside from calling Dan a tool, but that one was kind of warranted - he is sort of a tool :lmao:).

While I disagree with his solution to this problem, it was totally his decision to purchase a new ECU for the vehicle, rather than sending off the AccessPORT for diagnosis and repair. The service would have been covered under warranty and I am confident it is a problem we could have fixed, but as he said before, sometimes to play you have to pay.

Let's not turn this into the "MPS-Hater Bandwagon" because of his choices, please. :240:

MPS 10-03-2008 06:32 PM

Thanks Shayne and I'm sure you know why i got my new ECU =)
its all good not mad about that at all just wanted my car tuned and ready to go
you guys always did ur best to help me and i like that
just that incident with Dan was not so pleasant
