well you said the AP wouldn't connect, have it not connect does not pose a problem on the vehicle as I'm sure it still runs, you just can't flash it at the moment. so you wait however it takes them to fix the unit, i say a week tops, then you get it back and you are fine. you example of paying to play is retarded, because if you would have just waited you could have got the AP fixed, got it to unmarry with the ECU and then sold the AP since you obviously don't like it and save yourself a grand.

hmmmmmmmmmmm, mps, pm me what you paid for the ecu. i'm really fucking curious, and where you got it from...etc...

K this sounds a bit odd to me....

Aside from what ever was said on the phone between "Dan" and the "OP" cause none of us were there to hear any of it so either party could be lying about what was said etc.....

Your AP stopped working, they offer to take it back and fix the problem, but instead you go out and by a brand new ECU????? Did I miss something somewhere? Will your car not start because of this problem?

I'm willing to bet it will take longer to get a new ECU than to ship the AP to Cobb, have them fix it, you reflash your ECU to the way you want, and then sell said AP.

Like I said unless I missed something about your car not working at all because of the AP something sounds a bit out of place with this story. I don't even own a Cobb product but why would you not give them the benifit of the doubt and have them fix the problem since you did pay for the product, and in the end if your still not satisfied then sell the AP after every thing is said and done. That seems to make more sense to me.

I Know Cobb has had some issues of late but it seems like some people are way to quick to jump on the "Hate Cobb" band wagon latley.

Based on the comments and actions from the OP in this thread it's pretty easy to draw an conclusion on who said what.

Shayne @ COBB 10-03-2008 05:07 PM

I'd like to apologize to MPS on behalf of COBB due to the way some of our interactions went over the course of his experience with our customer service department (which includes myself).

We have done what we can to try and satisfy his needs and requests since he has been using our products, but unfortunately there have been issues that were not resolved in a timely fashion suitable to what he expects of us.

I would also like to thank MPS for maintaining a respectable attitude about everything that has happened with us on these forums (aside from calling Dan a tool, but that one was kind of warranted - he is sort of a tool :lmao:).

While I disagree with his solution to this problem, it was totally his decision to purchase a new ECU for the vehicle, rather than sending off the AccessPORT for diagnosis and repair. The service would have been covered under warranty and I am confident it is a problem we could have fixed, but as he said before, sometimes to play you have to pay.

Let's not turn this into the "MPS-Hater Bandwagon" because of his choices, please. :240:
