Default CP-E drops support for Standback Offically?!

So i got an interesting Email from Sander from CP-E today:

"Hello Matt,

I don’t work for cp-e any longer. They have no technical support / engineers any longer. I would advise emailing jadams@cp-e.com and ask for a refund. They’ll also perhaps give you a deal on an AccessPORT as well.

Sorry I can’t be of more help.

And I was looking at their website and it appears that they now officially endorse "The COBB AccessPort is the best OE ECU mapping solution available on the market..."

Old news on cp-e going with the AP. New news for some regarding Sander. Perhaps that is why they are hiring a new employee, as per their post.

probably the best, since i never had good vibes from Sander, was kinda an asshole when trying to reach out for support. Shitty that they pushed their Standback so hard and now just straight up refuse to support it at all anymore.

Looking for an engine management unit for a 2011 CX-7 2.3 turbo...cant wait for the 2nd gen CX-7 Versatuner option

I can find used Standback for cheap, but something is always missing (software...)

Just go Versatune. They are an approved vendor here, and lots of cx7 guys have run it. Standback was never engineered or tuned for the 2nd gen.

I'd recommend you get a fuel pump internals upgrade or a CPe pump. Then intercooler and an intake and a rear motor mount before taking the tuning leap. (I had one of the first cx7's made, I am very familiar with them).

Versatuner would be my #1 option, but it only support the 2007-2009 CX-7...who knows how long before they support the 2010-2012 model...months...years...

Already changed the intecooler, intake, airbox, BPV and added a dual phase MBC...guess I need the pump upgrade also since I recently had fuel cut at 18psi on a cold morning (MBC set at 17-18 psi), even if the datalogger show full 1.7kpsi fuel pressure

So your saying that the Standback will not work with the 2011 CX-7???

Highly doubt it. First, REMOVE THE BOOST CONTROLLER. Second, get fuel pump internals. Pm eric@edgeautosport.com and get Autotechs, or go with the full CPe pump.

You need to get VIP status here, and do a lot of reading and searching before slapping shit on your car. Links 2,3,4 and 5 in my sig.

Really appreciate the suggestion, but ive done my part of research before doing anything (followed your guide here : http://www.mazdaspeedforums.org/foru...ppiness-63964/ )

Intake, airbox, BPV and intercooler are the logical first choice to improve efficiency...the MBC is just for some added zoom-zoom when needed (I can switch between ECU boost control and MBC with a switch on the dashboard)

So the fuel pump internals should absolutely come before the tuning (im asking because im on a tight budget recently and can easily get a used Standback for 200$, but the internals are 350U$+ shipping to Canada...thats like a 500CAN$ bill)

the internals should have come before you upped the boost with no tuning ability

That thread needs updating too, as I suspect the 2nd gen cx7 to have ecu tweaks like genpu ms3 and need internals after intake.

Standback is worth $20 or so, tops. I've seen em here for $50 and not sell.

You didn't hit fuel cut because of not having upgraded pump internals, it doesn't work like that. If you hit fuel cut it is probably because of the boost controller. I don't know off the top of my head what the stock boost limits for fuel cut are on the MS3 but would guess around 18 or 19psi, and the CX-7 I would imagine is close to the same.

I highly recommend getting VIP status, since it's not $350, if for no other reason then the for sale section, and do some more research before modding. Read several threads on the same topic, it's an user based forum and opinions are like assholes around here.

I know the fuel cut is not from the lack of an upgraded internals, but from the overboost

However, there is some confusion as to wheter the fuel cut can be remedied with an upgraded pump or tuning...ive seen threads were guys got rid of fuel cut with an upgraded pump, while other sware that tuning is the solution (bypass or increase the boost limit...like Cp-E fuel cut flash)

Whats the real deal?
