This is gonna get comical.

Cobb says gains cant be made with throttle. And then Paisini/ CPE is gonna give us 50 hp with peak power gains way out past 6200.... and they specifically mention throttle...lol

Is it possible that the Cobb guys arent as "familiar" as they claim? i so want to post the paisini dyno in the cobb thread over there... but i know what will happen...... I'll be defending nonsense 2 posts later.

Posted at the cobb thread at mazda3forums was i respectful enough?

well it is well known that CPE and Paisini Engineering have been working together and CP-Es website just announced that a reflash is imminent(in the next couple weeks). The flash which will be similar to the Australian MPS flashs as seen below, but will have all made power well out past 6400rpms. Both CPE and Paisini claim full control of throttle is primarily responsible for this.

Not only are fairly humongous gains noticed but the more important question of throttle control remains even more blurred. The testimonies of the initial users in australia all seem to back this up.

Is it possible that you guys may have missed something in your throttle control research? How else would you explain what apparently is a very different result than what the AP will give us?

yah... hmm.... stock car over 280whp, pulling to 6700-6800rpm. All for less than the cost of the standback.

Now just to see what options for tune, and setups, are gonna be available at the onset.

I can't wait to see what they can do for you ms3 guys. Ms6 better be next in line! I've been hoping for a flash since I first heard Cobb was interested in the speed 6, back in 06. I figure, by the time they get the flashing for these motors down to a fine art, they'll open it up for us 6 guys.

Anyways very cool that CPE teamed up with Paisini.
according to jordan its not a paisini flash! its another company! they said the flash is going to be like 700-750. then he said they recommend running a stand back with it which is 650 i think! and if you want the pug and play kit its another 400 dollars!

but they are excited about it and they said in the next week or 2 it will be ready to fly!

So, the ol' 101 flashes and it's dead statement. Do they actually have proof of this? Maybe one of you guys can send in your ECU and have it flashed 101 times to verify.

well it is well known that CPE and Paisini Engineering have been working together and CP-Es website just announced that a reflash is imminent(in the next couple weeks).

How else would you explain what apparently is a very different result than what the AP will give us?

what i dont get is how the stock car is making power up top.....I thinkt he peak stock whp was at or a lil over 6000 according to this dyno

Looks like this combo could have very good results. I have been waiting for just the right engine mgt system to surface, They tend to be expensive so getting the right one will be worth the wait, especially if throttle control is being addressed.
also have to agree with other members, This forum is very cool so far and i am glad to see that difference of opinions are healthy here without all that negative bias remarks about vendors are done without hate. Nice job fella's, it been a pleasure reading the posts,,,i just wish i had more usefull knowledge to add to it...i do no alot about music and recording, but not cars..LOL so my posts are more opinion oriented rather than substance, or speed related, so thanks for the tolerance!!!

glad to have you aboard! Unlike the "other" forums, you don't have to be as cautious with who you listen to on here. Just sit back, pay attention to the latest posts, study the results, chime in whenever you like, and enjoy watching the mazdaspeed3 pioneers discover just how far the car can be taken.

when i spoke to jordan, he said the price would be fractions of the standback and those with the standback would actually get a discount.

Lou pulled all the data from an MS6 ecu last Saturday. Already has the code decrypted and 157 tables identified.

imo if they want to sell the standback they should throw the flash in for 100 bucks....
If this happens i might have to bite my tongue and buy a cpe product ftl....unless....

I beleive they are charged a good portion of money by the flashing equipment manufacturer for every ecu they flash.

I just want the flash, and I'd like to fine tune with an e-manage ultimate. My buddy's taking one out of his subby, so I can get it for pretty cheap. I'll be able to adjust it on the fly with my e-01 too.

157 tables!?!? Damn! Anything fun possible, like launch control? Could it flash the AWD parameters too, or ecu only?

I wonder how far just the flash will go...?
And how much boost is increased by; 1 psi, 2 psi...? Preferably the standard 2-3 to make it a flat 18 total... Just that alone will entice me to buy it...

Since my car will be down for a DP warranty work, I might just do both at the same time!!!

It would be very cool to see the final pricing ASAP.

So is their flash going to be mild to enhance operation with the Standback only?

my understanding is there are things this flash can control that can't be controlled via a piggy back ems like throttle and such.
