| Not Ranked : 0 score Grimmspeed can be used in 2 port mode this way: https://www.grimmspeed.com/install_g...MazdaSpeed.pdf 10. Hook up vacuum lines. Port 1 connects to a high pressure boost source. Remove 4mm vacuum line on wastegate. Connect 4mm vacuum line from this connector to Port 1 on the GrimmSpeed BCS. 11. Port 2 connects to the turbo inlet. Remove oem and replace with 4mm hose and bring 4mm hose to Port 2 on the BCS. It is recommended that a plastic zip tie is used to secure vacuum lines. | Not Ranked : 0 score you might get some bad boost spikes because your still using the stock compressor nipple which has the restrictor in it.

| Not Ranked : 0 score so just to go over my last question... if your using this in 2 port w/ stock k04, is a restrictor pill still needed? the instructions dont say it is required but it wont be the first time that someones instructions were wrong so hence I am asking the gurus here

I would think grimmspeed says you do not need to tune for the solenoid in 2 port mode because the restrictor pill is assumed to be in tact. If you have atr, just cut your wgdc in half whichever way you install it, and take it easy the first few times you boost. If you need a hand tweaking your map, I could certainly help you.

I dont quite use ATR right now, I have a...different tuning method. Its not any of the current tuning solutions out there. Its like I am beta testing a new solution...but I'll definately pass along the info. I may later on endup switching, depending on the outcome of how what I am doing works out.

You can always revert back to, or creep up on your original values if you are drastically underboosting.

| Not Ranked : 0 score The pill should be drilled out for either the 2 port or 3 port method, the reason is that the grimmspeed is a larger bcs and reacts faster than the stock unit. It shouldnt be bottle necked by that restrictor pill. I "drilled" mine out with a ratcheting screwdriver, a 12" flex extension, and a drill bit. Just be carefull not to drill too far. On the stock turbo, there is also 2 ports on the wga. One will need to be plugged but those rubber plugs are a ticking time bomb of leakage. It would definitely recommend a wga upgrade to one that only has one port.

| Not Ranked : 0 score I have reason to beleive that my stock boost controll solenoid is not functioning properly anymore. I have a stock K04 and minor mods(see sig). I have read i can just take out the stock BCS and install the grimmspeed 2 port and run like normal. What other mods would i need to do to make this work as I intend it too.... I see that i may need to drill out my turbo pill...anything else? Also by using the grimmspeed in 2 port can I control the stock boost? And then once I get a cobb AP in the near future i can then run 3 port and tune. Thanks for any clarification anyone can offer. Im trying to research more about MBC/EBC but now that it seems my BCS is crap i need to get something that can both control boost and work in place of the stock system. thanks agian!

| Not Ranked : 0 score Excellent thank you for that tip as well. Also can I control boost with just the grimmspeed EBCS....with out an AP or a MBC? If so where? Seems like a stupid question lol but I just dont see anywhere to adjust boost in any of the pictures of the devise. thank you again I am excited about this option, and shouldnt have to go long in 2 port because i see a AP in my near future , but right now im stuck in 10 psi mode and dont think its a boost leak. So Im assuming its the factory BCS.

| Not Ranked : 0 score You cannot control the boost without a tuner, but it should function like the factory bcs until you do.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Necroposting like a mofo... The instruction manual for the GrimmSpeed EBCS does not mention plugging the unused port 3, and they don't provide a plug for it. I just tested out my new GrimmSpeed EBCS with port 3 unplugged and had no trouble hitting my boost targets.

| Not Ranked : 0 score I'm running the GS in two port mode on the stock K04 to replace failed OEM ebcs. I found it necessary to plug the third port on the GS. The product did come with a short piece of vacuum line and a cap. Putting it on without a clamp was not tight enough. Once I put a clamp on it, I found it easy to hit 18-19 psi boost target with a normal for me WGDC of 70-75%. Not to disagree too strongly with post above to contrary, but I needed to cap the 3rd port and secure the cap tightly with a clamp.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Instructions: https://www.grimmspeed.com/install_g...MazdaSpeed.pdf It says to remove factory restrictor pill for external wastegate applications however do you guys think drilling it out for 3-port interrupt mode is best? If so, is there any info or a how-to on doing this?

| Not Ranked : 0 score I don't know if capping port 3 when in 2 port mode is necessary or helpful. It just might be coincidence that I seemed to pick up boost and wastegate duty cycle seemed to be closer to expected after I did that. It just might have been the ECU adjusting. The 6mm cap is installed on the end of a plastic adapter that converts 6mm down to 4mm. That came with the kit. I just used that cap on one end of the adapter, a short 4mm vacuum line on the other end with hose clamps on both ends of the 4mm hose. Even if not necessary or helpful, it deeps dirt and debris out of that port.

| Not Ranked : 0 score The throttle plate maxes out at around 75-78%. That's as far as it will physically open. Lube your BPV and see if it's hitting boost targets. If not, up WGDC. Tapadatass
