(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score I took the plunge and installed ap Stage 2 MSCAI 91 V1.06, mods are colder plugs, OCC, Cobb downpipe with Cat, MSCAI with air Straighteners, HKS CBE exhaust. I Ran the car with little load for a while, and then datalogged some near WOT. Attached is the data log, there is about 3.5 of knock retard. Any ideas where to fix this.

You have shitty fuel in your area. Either find a different gas station or start pulling timing.

I had problems w/ KR no matter what gas station I tried (93). I ended up pulling timing. I would start with 1/2 deg from 5000rpm and up and see what happens.

Isn't there a Sunoco in Canada which has 94 octane? There are four ignition timing tables in ATR. |

I personally changed the NO knock high throttle table. Its actually still a mystery as to which tables to change as far as knock vs. no knock, but changeing no knock worked for me

![]() I had the same problem when I first flashed my ecu. I switched from Shell 91 to Sunoco 94 and gave the ecu a few more kms to learn and now I have no WOT knock.

Sunoco is only in Ontario, Alberta seems to only have 91 as there high test. Since i just put the plugs in 300 kms ago i am going to try some race blend octane boost... found that on the cobb forums. We will see...hopefully it is just bad gas. Everything else in the log looks pretty good to me... but i do not know!

Ethanol blends are best against knock. Chevron although they advertise 94 octane in most cases is shitting than 91 octane in the states. Go figure. And I pay 1.32/litre (thats $5 a gallon folks) for that shit.

The ATR guide says that as long as your knock is below 1 at WOT then your engine is happy. But knock under 2 at WOT is okay. All taken from the ATR guide. | |

Your LTFTs will go up a little with E10 and you will get slightly less mileage on the ethanol blend. But knock will be lower. Ethanol blends have higher octane and ethanol added to the gas is cheaper so it's a win win for Husky/Mohawk. Some car fuel lines etc don't like the ethanol however.
