| how in the hell would the average professional tuner have the first idea about how to use this thing. cpe needs to come out with better tuning instructions for it. its becoming more apparent how capable the damn thing is. but you have to know what youre doing when you use it, and most tuners dont know our cars very well..... let alone the standback.

| Shrug, makes sense to me. It's not all that difficult to understand what each parameter does and why the map is shaped like it is, but knowing how to get the most out of the fuel and oxidizer at each given point is what makes a tuner a professional IMO. No offense Chris, I'd be in the same boat as you - learning as I go - but then again neither one of us claims to be a professional tuner. IMO to create the most optimized maps for this (or any) car we would need all sorts of empirical data, such as flow curves for fuel, air, the turbo, intake and exhaust.. basically you need to know how any given component of the entire powerplant will react to any given input or situation. We need to know if we see a loss in power at the top end of the powerband is it because of fuel falling off, or exhaust backpressure, is the turbo running out of its optimized range, or one of dozens of other things that could cause that problem. Sure, it's easy to say "it's a fuel problem" or "the turbo doesn't work up there" but there's more to it than that, to be a pro, to make this car right. | ||||||||

| trust me... most professional tuners would struggle with this thing if theyd never used it before. not because the standback isnt awesome and easy to use, but because of our cars being so damn finicky about everything. the standback has to be used as a prod. and you have to understand our ecu to do it.
