| Ok, I am a ford tech. I know ford own's mazda or is partnered or whatever. Anyway I talked to a mazda tech where I live and he said that he can use his IDS mazda software to read codes etc.. on the fords. So I was thinking that I could use the Ford IDS software to do the same with the mazda. I have a MS6. I will try today to see what happens. I'm not sure if it will ID the pcm though. May have to enter pcm teartag or P/N. All I want to do is turn of the annoying beltminder. I found the process using the scan tool from mazda and its exactly how we do it on the ford cars. module programming, programable parameters, beltminder/IC, disable. I really have faith that this should work. If it does that is awesome because that means I can work on my own car at the dealer. Just trying to see if I can get access through fmcdealer to the mazda website. If anyone has any insight on this it would be much appreciated. Thanks much.

| I take it you guys are ford tech's too then? Also will the vehicle auto ID like it does with fords. start new session, tick, tick, then yes to the ID after network test? Or do I have to enter manually with pcm p/n or tertag?

| TOP DOG | Last time i used it, it was completely automatic. This is all depending on your firmware version, etc.

| we have everything up to date. 56.11 p17 . So I should be able to just id the car normally then. start new session, tick, tick, network test then yes to auto ID? That would be awesome. Can I access all the modules then too? Pcm updates and everything?
