| Hello all, I really need to know what to get into my car for data logging and monitoring... I was going to get a dashhawk or a OBDII PLX but i am still undecided. I guess that i could go ahead with the individual guage plan that i once had, but what a PITA! So, my first question is... Despite the fact that MSD is no longer supporting the DH, is it still a good purchase? If the DH is not a good purchase, what is worth it. I'm not really looking for a cost effective way (within reason), but a good way. Furthermore, i dont really want to ride around all the time with a laptop in my car... with my ADD i will be the first amongst this community to drive my car through an middle school! ![]() Thanks! PS---I'm really not trying to start a holy war between MSD DH supporters and haters... so no suicide bombing! | ||||||||

| i would say it's still worth it. i paid around 230 for mine, and it works as a wideband afr gauge and it reads and clears my cels. i can't really go wrong the 230 i spent on it has been more than worth it and i haven't even logged with it. i'm a little upset that msd is no longer supporting it, but that doesn't take away from what the dh can already do | ||||||||

| TOP DOG | In the coming weeks, im going to show you other options on the market, which are at the same price or just a tad bit higher, that give you better options in the end for datalogging and monitoring. I have a 3 way comparison coming, which we will be looking at the following: 1) Auto Enginuity, which im getting more Mazda information available for those who already own one or for future owners. im working with the owner to achieve this. 2) Dash Dyno, again im working with the main guy over there to bring you all of the available enhanced PIDs and more information. 3) DashHawk, which is basically going to lose the fight when you see what the above two can accomplish for you. Any system you choose will be ready to go for your Mazda setup as i said, im working with 1 & 2 to give us every possible option available to us.

| Hal, if you have the ear of the AE guy, would you be willing to see if he can speed up the sampling rate on everything during datalogging? I just purchased a DH and I have the AE with mazda and toyota enhanced and my datalogging isnt as detailed as I would like it. heck, it doesnt even see my peak rpm's during a pull because it only checks it every second or half second at absolute best and even then it seems to lag a bit behind real time, lags a big on the realtime gauges too, and i ran this on my desktop hooked to my car, just to make sure it wasnt a laptop issue my take on it, i love the product, but the datalogging side needs major work compared to the DH | ||||||||

I really dont know anything about the dash dyno, except the blurbs i have read, but if my memory serves me there seems to be a lot of grumbling on its accuracy...and list of functions as well... but then again i cant remember where i read about it. Still, Haltech, now that you have offered so graciously to get the dirt on some other options... I may just have to wait to buy the DH... | |||||||||
