| TOP DOG | Site Wide Rules, Guidelines, Expectations & Forum Info FOREWORD: Welcome to Mazdaspeed forums. The reason why this forum was started was for the people. To many Mazda forums run their boards based off revenue generated from Vendors. Its no secret that today running a forum, isn't that expensive. Especially with how competitive dedicated hosting is. The problem with these other forums is, they take you, me and everyone else, and use us for profit. They don't care if their sponsored vendor rips off the customer. Instead, they want you to air the dirty laundry out in PMs where other members wont be able to see. I think this is WRONG and potential customers SHOULD be aware of service issues that arise. A friend of mine was banned off a forum simply from airing out his dispute with a authorized vendor. The owner of the site wanted to shut up the forum member to keep the vendor happy. Well I'm here to tell you at Mazdaspeed forums, we don't operate like that. Although its nice to have authorized vendors flipping the bills, i have designed this board to be cost effective where i don't have to worry about Vendors paying my bill. This way, potential customers can see how a vendor deals with customers and all disputes will be handled publicly. There is no hiding here at Mazdaspeed Forums. I've been an avid car enthusiast ever since i was born. My father was a street racer and car builder. By the nature of my blood, Ford is what I've been accustomed to building and tuning. Back in 1991, i had the first fuel injected 5.0 mustang in the 10s. I moved on to other mustang platforms such as the SN95, fully equipped with a 724hp 32 Valve Modular engine and Griggs GR040 suspension, used mainly for open road racing. In 2002, I entered a new realm of hot rodding with a 2002 Ford Lightning. I'm well known in the Ford community, I've made just as many friends as i have enemies, for being open, honest, direct and to the point. Im well respected and continue to be in my new Mazda Community. My goal is simple... Provide you a wealth of great factual information, to help your quest, for the ultimate tuned Mazdaspeed. I will give you 150% of my dedication, in providing you with vendors to help achieve your goal for your DISI powered car. I will work hard to get you parts developed and help push the envelope, with the friendliest community possible. Enjoy! We are a different forum. To many rules is just plain petty... so here is what you need to do, in order to survive around here. I. Basic Rules, Guidelines and Expectations: 1) Don't be an ass to fellow members. Show respect and you will be treated with respect. 2) Profanity is allowed simply because i feel its used to express action in a sentence. However please see the example below as how to use it properly without getting in trouble: That motor made some fuckin crazy ass horsepower with 20PSI and meth! <---- this is ok You're a fucking retard and i want to kick your ass <---- Not ok! IF you are caught intentionally being an asshole, you will be punished by having only access to the Neil Diamond section of the forum for 30 days. IF you are caught again, i will just permanently leave you there. We are not here to babysit, so if you have nothing valuable to add to the community, you can take that ass back to where you came from. 3) Please search for a topic before posting a new one. This really isn't hard to do and will keep us from having 40 threads on the same subject. 4) We encourage good dialog and debates from time to time. Just keep the attacks to the minimum. Im not saying people cant get away with stupid ass comments, but you do know when its gone to far. 5) No posting of X rated porn in the site period. We arent here for your sexual needs! V.I.P Lounge has an 18+ over area. 6) Posting of PG rated stuff will only been done in the Anything Goes forum. Anything you think can get someone in trouble at work MUST have a Not For Work Warning before the thread title! IE: Work Warning - OMG, This is Hilarious The last thing i want to see are people getting in trouble at work and end up terminated. This follows under the " respect " and " Haltech Expectation " rule. This WILL be a bannable offense, so please be sure that you don't get caught up in it. 7) For Sale forums MUST have a picture accompanying the item you are selling to show proof of ownership. If you fail to do this, the thread will be removed and you will receive a PM about it. 8) At this time, signatures to other vendors websites are no longer allowed. This is for obvious reasons and shall not be argued. We take care of our own here people. 9) NO ATTACKING ADMINS This will not be tolerated. If you are being talked to in PMs and you still decide to go against what was discussed, be prepared for the cards your are dealt. I make several attempts to squash problems between us, but there comes a time when we got to call it quits. 10) For Sale Items: MUST have a photograph showing proof of ownership of the said item for sale, including your forum name on a piece of paper written, along with the date. This is for the protection of the members. Anyone who doesnt follow that rule, will have their thread locked. ALSO... if you dont have at least, 25 quality posts, you will not be able to sell items. We wont tolerate flyby night members who register, just to dump parts. These people can't be trusted as their number goal is to dump and take your money. II. Infraction System: We don't have one. You will be contacted via PMs if we have a problem with you. Its a rare instance. We're here to enjoy ourselves, not try to have this place become Sesame Street. We are friendly, helpful and respectful, so we intend to keep it that way. III. Color Coded Member Names... What are these?
Please review the FAQ for other custom items you can change on the forum. Skin Change. Don't like our default skin? Change to several others we have installed. You can locate the forum skin change by looking at the bottom left hand side of the forum and you will find the skin selector! Again, my expectations are that you treat people how you want to be treated. If you do that, we all will get what we are looking for out of a quality forum. Thanks for your cooperation. Haltech Owner
