Default nozzle placement

Hey guys..

Looking into a devils own stage one kit, to be controlled by the Xede. Now, not knowing anything at all about WM injection, I have a question. Is there anyway i can install the nozzle on the fabbed end tank on the 3.25" ETS TMIC, obviously on the cold side? I would just rather put it here, then drill into my cold pipe, just incase i ever need to go back to stock.

and last question.. seeing im running 18 PSI on the stocker, what would be a good time to have the meth come on? 12 PSI i was thinking? and I assume No# 3 injector would be the way to go?

Thanks for the help guys, really appreciate it

I've seen subie guys do this, over on the Aquamist forums. I don't think its ideal but its certainly possible. Since the endtank is so wide you may want to look into getting a Y-splitter and using two nozzles, one closer to each end of the endtank. Seems like that would give a better distribution of water for all the air coming out of the IC.

Ok, so been thinking about this WI install im gonna be doing. And like most things, I like to overthink shit and make sure I get the right shit the first time.

SO, its been mentioned that its not good to install the injector upstream of the BOV, so for us speed 3 guys, that basically leaves the silicon hose. I did a lil search and found a nozzle mounting adapter from snow performance Snow Performance Nozzles Mounting Adapter - Modern Automotive Performance
but it looks like using this i would have to run an inside nozzle since I dont think i can put threads in it.

does it seem like a better idea to install it in the hose or should I try to get it just below the bov on the cold pipe? there is a small area on the back side of it that is just below the bov flange.

does it matter that much? should I not be concerned that it be below the bov?

haha someone on the other side of the world is going through the same thought pattern as me..

I too have been over thinking this, and today i decided to install it on the back side (towards the firewall) below the bov...

however i plan on drilling it on a bit of a downward angle.. and then grinding the outside surface so its perpendicular to the axis of the hole, so the nozzle has a nice flat surface to seat on. I will be doing an external fitment. and prob take a little matterial around the nozzle on the inside for good spray pattern.

will order tonight

good luck

So old friend we are moving on to meth injection. Mine is installed on the hot side end tank and works well. This seems to work well to cool the charge across the IC. This will all need to change now as my Cobb FMIC has arrived and I will need to look at a different spot

that area below the bov facing back may be the spot. Considering the nozzle gets connected with a 90 elbow, fitment should be fine. Just a matter of grinding it all correctly.

take some pics when ya start doing it, if i havent started mine yet id love to steal an idea or two if you figure out something I dont

I have a question though. Can you tap into a silicone coupler? I've been told it's best to have the nozzle between the bypass valve and throttle body, preferably less than 6 inches from the throttle body itself. The only location I really have that meets those criteria, given my current front mount intercooler setup, would be the last silicone coupler going into the throttle body. Is this a good place to put a nozzle, and is it possible?

i took pics some times ago, this thread motivated me to get them up

I placed my injector in a slightly diff area than most, I ended up sanding the flat nub on the backside down until it was the perfect thickness for the injector threads (i tapped the threads, then I started to shave it down bit by bit on my belt sander till it was where I needed it)

I was very happy with the results

really damn hard to find a good mounting spot on a GT

as you can see, darksun's engine bay looks much cleaner than mine, NOT

hope this helps someone because installing alchy is the SHIZIT and I highly recomend everyone going on a strict diet of it
