Default Anyone have an OEM strut fail?

I just took my MS3 in for its 25000 mile service and to have the dealer check out a knocking noise in my front suspension. It turned out that the LF strut is bad. The sled has only spent @4 hours at HPDEs, and I'm not going to be happy if this turns out to be a chronic problem...

Yep my rear failed at ~6k. There was actually a TSB regarding the bolts on this, but I'm not sure if it only applied to the back or not. Mine had stripped the screw on the endlink though, did yours actually snap?

I'm only at 7000 miles and it already feels like the front shocks are blown.

Stretch just took a set off a speed recently, and the strut's were leaking and not holding proper pressure. I think the car only had 10-15k miles on it! (And it wasn't even lowered). Based on this information, I (and he) have changed our recommendation to avoid lowering springs all together on this car. Either go coilovers, or aftermarket shocks with the springs.

As it is, the stock shocks are being damaged on stock cars. I can't imagine whats happening on cars even lowered a tiny bit...the jounce bumpers are literally assaulting the struts in that situation.
