I used this. How-To: Cobb Springs and Impressions Afterwards.

Pretty thorough. Just make sure you are very careful with the part that houses the bearings. If you pop that open, you'll have to make a trip to the dealer with 40 bucks.

Piffle, if you pop it open just painstakingly collect all the little bearings that fly everywhere and put that shit back together!

For me the most difficult part was seperating the brake / hub assembly from the strut. I ended up using a few kicks to get it to come off. The spare tire jack just started to bend part of the strut so I resorted to my puma-clad hammerfeet. I reccommend lots of pb blaster and a strut separator tool if you can find it.

I tried that and many others did too. Problem is that the plastic ring that aligns on top of the bears is crap. Good chance you won't align it correctly and it'll get chewed up around the edges...which is what happened to me.

The coin trick is pretty neat though. I plan on doing that when I slap my kw's in the spring. But tons of pb blaster and one good whack with a rubber mallet did the trick too.

Took one whack? I guess it depends how old your car is, because it took a good 20 minutes of hitting, shaking and standing to remove hub assembly from the strut on each side. What does the strut separater tool look like? I will definately be using this in the future. Also, more info on the coin trick?

i wish i would have done a write up on this because when i did mine it was the first time i had never done suspension work so i had no clue how to. it took me 15 mins tops to do the back and about 45 mins to do the front( not including compressing the spring which was the longest part)

Yes, just watch the ball bearings, i only dropped 2-3 and got it all back in correctly, and have been fine for who knows how long.

I did the eibach kit but same thing, the hardest part was getting the front struts out, had to whack it a bunch of times with a 2x4. Luckily I didnt have any of the bearings fall out and with some help had the job done in less than 90min.

Well I have a friend that happened to have a lift and a floor standing spring compressor so it made the job a lot easier, that and he had already done them on his car twice.
