Default brake pad recommendations?

For mostly street use with 1 or 2 autocrosses per month in the summer, which pad is best for my Speed3? Are the Hawk HPS okay or should I go with HP Plus (for more $$$)?

Thanks for any insights.

they got good stuff at Protege Garage, don't go to Autozone, Oriely, Advanced, etc all those places have the mazda 3 pads as the same pads on the speed3 and they are NOT... I had to buy stock retail at the dealer $217.00 i got for $175.00. PG has better prices and good pads..

HPS should be fine. If you notice the pads fading at the track then upgrade. I would bet that the HPS will hold up just fine though.

I'd go with the HPS's, they are a good upgrade over stock The HP Plus's work better, but seem to cause a lot more brake dust and can be noisy.

I'm a big fan of the carbotech bobcats for street use and light autox. Don't track with them though!

I think therpm store sells them. I haven't picked up a full set yet, because they're expensive, and my damn tax stimulus check didn't come.
