Default Air/Water intercooler installed (almost)

I mocked this up over a month ago and finally had time yesterday to install the air/pressure side. The water hose and heat exchanger aren't in yet, but should be hopefully this week or next weekend.

Initial feel is quite an improvement over the stocker! 3rd gear lost traction with a roll-on, which has never happened before (quick test at 19 psi where I ran on the stock TMIC). Obviously with the HE not installed yet, heat builds up quick, so I've turned the boost down to 12-13 PSI and it feels just as strong as it did on the stocker at 16-17. Only regret is that I didn't do it sooner.

Still have to order a couple more T-bolt clamps, and it will be powder coated eventually, other than that I'm really happy with it!

Details:

CX Racing 4.5" core
3" inlet/outlet
2.5" piping
el-cheap-o bypass valve (seems to hold pressure just fine and is actually more stable PSI than stock right now)

Home made short ram with the Spectre Maf adapter/filter. I had to make some air straighteners for it to avoid a CEL. I've ordered a 2.62 ID aluminum pipe to make my own though since fuel trims are a bit off with the 3" even with the straighteners... both may become available shortly if things go well.

I doubt I'll put a remote tank on here, just a heat exchanger and a small overflow tank under the hood. Not to say that it couldn't easily be done FTMFW if I wanted to though. For every day use, a couple of bottles of water wetter or purple ice and I'll be good.

I most likely will soon. I would have to work out a deal with board admins prior to doing something like that (most likely a piece by piece payment since I don't want to be a full time shop) and I'm still working on CXR and others for wholesale pricing on every item needed to come in a "kit" form.

Simple is what I kept thinking about it as I started mocking it up. One 90 degree reducer hose, one 90 degree 2.5" aluminum pipe, one straight piece with a BPV port, and that's basically it for routing. I wanted shorter routing than the FMIC kits and this is as short as it can get!

I didn't think it would be as easy as I first thought, but as I ordered parts and tried them out, everything fit without issue. The ONLY thing that's wrong with the current config is the stock shifter weight rubs the driver's side radiator hose in 3rd and 5th gears (the core pushes it down a bit to clear the hood). I took it off for now (the weight), but the Cobb weight could be used if someone wanted to keep the weighted feel.
