Default Rick's is bigger than ours...

So I was at my friends rick house this weekend hangen out helping him change the oil in his EVO 9. I noticed his turbo is like double the size of ours.. Our k04 is a great turbo but if we would have gotten a little biger one stock more power would be easier, cuase with a bigger turbo colder boost.. Just thought I would make everyone aware our turbos are good but a littel too small.

I didnt know our turbo was good,I guess when they are not smoking or blowing flames because we raised the boost 3-4psi..I wish we would have gotten a good ball bearing turbo that was efficient to 18-19psi stock.

A GT2871 comes to mind as a good alternative.

agreed.. though our little turbos do spool up pretty quick and considering the price of our cars we still got a pretty good deal

I wouldn't jump into an engine build on such a new car. My old Escort was holding 250+whp daily on a motor that was 15 yrs old and that was intended to hold 100whp. It did this for years. I'm sure the MS3 engine can handle quite a bit of abuse if treated right. Wait until there is support for making really big HP and then decide if you want to build it.

Im just worried about a rod going thru the block and then costing me twice as much to fix instead of just getting the rods and pistons now and not worrying about it.I would hate to have to get a new block and all that work to go with it.Im thinking rods and pistons is the first step to making really big Hp but my car is a daily driver so I guess I dont want to get to crazy...
