Default Question to CP-E intake (and I guess other CAI) owners

So, I've had the speed for a while now, with the CPE intake on it, and a dude at work tells me that when he took his off to get warranty work, he noticed that the pipe was all dented up. I checked mine, and sure enough, the shifter weight has put some nice fat dents in my intake pipe. I'm thrilled. I was searching around and didn't see that anyone had posted about this, but I was wondering if anyone else had this problem with the CPE or any of the other ones. When I put it in, I tried to keep it as far from the weight as I could, but clearly, to no avail. Anyone else?

When I put my CP-E intake on I flipped the weight upside down, if I didn't it would have definitely hit.

It might just be a speed3 issue, but I don't have any dents on my cp-e intake..

It definitely hits on the speed3 if you don't flip it around.

or you can slide the weight back and use 1 bolt instead of 2.

I noticed this problem month ago...and its caused by shit motor mounts. Ive tried repositioning it with no luck so i just slid the weight back

This is a 2-fer: get the weight out the of the way and get better shifting! You could also chop a little off each end of the weight. But, yeah, if you leave it stock, you have to make every effort to twist the tube as far away as possible or it bangs into it.

flip the counter weight upside down per CP-E instructions

or if you feel like experimenting...get the cobb shifter weight...that thing is SMALL compared to the stock counter weight
