Question Intake shield, yes or no?

When I bought my Speed6, it came with a SRI, and a half plastic cover over the air filter. I guess it serves to keep the filter dry, but it looks to me like it just blocks air flow. I attached some pics, so before I take it off, what do you guys think, leave it on or take it off? Thanks.

I would remove it. Your SRI is not going to get wet. CAI, maybe. SRI, not a chance.

Not 100% there. If you accidently drive thru a deep enough puddle like some members have, it will come over the hood and thru all the opens.
I will be using the CP-E Pre-Filter or the Injen Hydroshield with my SRI, just like I have suggested to SU and that is why they are making it a option for the CP-E Nano with the Pre-Filter. It's just a precaution, better to be safe than sorry, protect your investment!

If you drive through a puddle deep enough to go over your hood and through the openings, you're going to have more problems than your pre-filter is going to help you with. Over your hood? Are you serious? That's like water 2 1/2 feet deep! You may want to seal up your doors and do the "Dukes of Hazard" from now on too!

Remove it. It is not really doing anything. You may be losing air flow.
