Default Oil Catch Can gurus, please step in!

I plan to get the saikou michi OCC for $85 shipped...I just have a few questions

1. How hard is it to install?
2. Is it REALLY worth it? I am modified and plan to run cobb AP stage 2

What I'm really worried about is question 1....does the saikou michi come with a bracket and bolt to mount up to stock MS3? or would I have to fabricate something? Also, is reaching in those tight quarters to get to the PCV real difficult and PITA? Everything else should be golden...just wanted to get a heads up from you gurus!

oh yeah another question....would I have to clean out the IM after adding the OCC? or would the remaining oil in the IM get sucked in and burned off...then the OCC will clean up everything after that?

hey there,

I just installed my SM OCC the other day it wasn't hard at all. Just make sure you have all of the necessary fittings, specifies in aarons write up, and you are golden.

I am by no means a mechanic and what not, and would rate this a 3 on a scale 1 to 10.

u can also follow the cobb directions that tell u to the T how to do it. i did mine yesterday and everything came out great. as far as #2 goes, you need one even if you were stock this is more of a precautionary measure then anything else.

For the BEST results, you should definitely clean the IM... most people don't do this step if they are installing from underneath without removing the IM. IMO, this will do nothing for the accumulation that has already occured - it will definitely help prevent further accumulation though.

I say do it once, do it right...
