I haven't installed mine yet but I'm thinking auto will be good for me to start with as well.

To those that have installed it, it's fairly straight forward right?

Very straight forward. Just read all of the threads on here about install questions and hints before you start and you'll have no trouble!

What do you mean it hits once? Does it cut briefly and then continue revving? It sounds like you are triggering the WOT shift. That will be triggered if you floor the gas before the clutch. The 2-step is only engaged when you floor the clutch then the gas.

What happens when you go through the troubleshooting steps? On which step does it stop working?

1. Key on the car but do not start the engine. Press the gas pedal to the floor. You should see the LED on the WOT Box start to rapidly blink. If it does not, check your APP signal connection (WOT Box BLUE wire).
2. Next, with the gas pedal still fully depressed, press the clutch pedal to the floor. You should see the LED on the WOT Box briefly go out, and then come back on solid for one second and then finally resume blinking rapidly. If you do not see this, check your Clutch Pedal Position Switch signal connection (WOT Box GREEN wire).
3. Next, start the engine. Quickly press the gas pedal to the floor and immediately step on the clutch. You should hear the engine start to rev up, stumble for a short period while the ignition and fuel is cut, then return back on and continue rev'ing. Remove your foot from the gas before you hit the rev limiter. The 2-step will not engage if the gas is depressed before the clutch. This is normal. If the engine does not stumble or pause when the LED turns out, then check the WOT Box RED / BLACK paired wires. Verify that the RED and BLACK 16 AWG are wired facing the proper way. If they are reversed, the ignition cut will not work.
4. Lastly, test the 2-Step. Press the clutch pedal down and then press the gas pedal all the way down. The engine should rev up to the desired RPM and hold. If it does not, be sure to remove your foot from the gas before you hit the rev limiter. If the 2-step does not work, check the Ignition coil control signal (WOT Box YELLOW wire)

Yeah, I have to find a way to consolidate all the tips we've learned here into the instructions so that people don't have to read this excessively long thread....

Ok, so it does the WOT shift kill, right? It stumbles momentarily and then keeps revving?

What RPM do you have it set at? Try resetting it to about 4 blinks. Make sure it isn't at 0.

I'd also go back and double check the yellow wire connection. If everything else works, then it's probably the yellow wire that is causing the problem.

Make sure it is hooked up as shown:
http://www.npcompleteperformance.com...full;init:.JPG

Also, note it is in a different connector than the other two wires that were tapped at the PCM.

It's a possibility.... Do you have access to a laptop with a serial port? We have debugging software you can load that will test the yellow wire...

Take a look:
NP Complete Performance - Mazda Speed 3 Installation Instructions

The green and the blue wires go to the #1 PCM connector and the yellow goes to the #2 PCM connector.

Installed mine today. Very easy install. Instructions are very straight forward. I took my time with the install and everything was said and done in 1 hour. Went though all the trouble-shooting and everything worked like it should. My first wot shift was in "auto" and was very werid feeling. I normally wot shift when i'm racing but with the box installed it was just different...but a good different. So I decided to get off of auto and go to 6 flashes. Wow is all I have to say. My 3rd to 4th shift was spinning the tires(3 times)....I was like WTF? Its never done that. I keep telling my self it was the road I was on or my tires are around 5-6/32...But it has never done that. Ambient air temp was 88F when this happened also and I was only on 17psi.

Anyways I will go play with it a little more tonight....

Oh and I can't wait untill we get the lower rpm 2 step
