Mine's been holding up the last week or so, haven't felt it slip for a bit.

I'm still babying the replacement. Probably would have been a little more aggressive this week, but switched back to 93, and my fuel trims are off at the moment, so trying to clear the tank.

slipping in 4th

Replaced with a act 6 puck but, after getting my new clutch in the mail and driving it another couple weeks, it stopped slipping. Didn't give to many fucks to be honest.. Still changed it.

My take on it, perhaps the self adjusting pressure plate is slow on the adjust. Just being that cunt hair off for a few cycles with cold air, which is more power for the engine and less friction on the disc.

50's or so

I've got quite a few passes at the track on it too. About 40-50 I'd say.

My new clutch seems to be really gay when its really cold out, and it hasn't been started. For the first 5 minutes, I feel like I hardly have a clutch and that I have to let it out slow without revving it so it grabs. Once the clutch heats up from some driving, its fine.

I've considered talking to my friend about this and seeing if he thought it would be best to parts warranty the new clutch. If that's his solution, then an ACT full face is going in this time.

Which clutch did you get?
Isn't the full face rated at 365trq at the crank?
The 6 puck with the prolite is pretty solid. Little tricky to relearn take off but, the pros outweigh the cons and it is rated at 470 or so.

Does the pedal come up slowly too? I know when it's really cold the clutch pedal is slow to respond on my car. That said, it does grab normally despite temperature.

I said full face, not full race. lol Its an ACT clutch. And I hope not because I know people with way more power than I with that clutch.

I have the ACT street disk, hd pressure plate and the prolite flywheel in the mail headed my way. I drove a friend's speed6 with the 6 puck and while it wasn't terrible I wouldn't want to be stuck in stop and go traffic with it.

Ya, I looked and was spot on with their specs. They tend to under rate them. I never drive in traffic. The mild learning curve of taking off is worth it to me. Everyone is different. I know when I get some slicks, I won't have to worry about if my clutch can take the ass ramming! Lol

I was a lucky bird. Mazda paid for my pilot bearing replacement. Since they opened up the transmission, Mazda give their OK to replace clutch + plate.

Just paid for the clutch disk + plate. Thanks God for saving me some $$$$$

Wow lucky. I am still having slippage in the hot weather. Its a lot less than before, but its still happening. I'm looking to save up for a new clutch because I know this one will give out if I do any WOT pulls.

I'd recommend not coming out of boost for a while, and putting a lot of used miles on it. Not saying go sit in traffic all day, but definitely do some city driving so you can clean off any glaze. Might help prolong your clutch, maybe even get you back to good enough condition to drive normal.

Until then, save dem pennies.

Not coming out of boost? You mean being in boost? Sorry my reading comprehension failed on that one.

In second I don't think my clutch slips, my wheels do however....

Mine is still ok ... no slips for a while now.

2nd gear is 100% definitely wheel spinny goodness. The lack of torque at the top of the revs will sometimes make the rpm stay still as the wheels start to regain traction though.

Just got my ACT Street disk and prolite flywheel installed. I like the feel of this clutch. Once I have some break in miles on it Ill see how well it does full boil. My stocker looks like the pictures @Spec; posted. I expected it to be worse considering the slippage I was getting. Hopefully the ACT holds up.

I really think it has something to do with the self adjustment. Mine stopped slipping days before I installed my clutch and I gave it maximum abuse to make sure I wasn't tripping .

It could be, I didn't have much time to look at my stocker yesterday and I am away until Tuesday. I plan to give everything a solid look when I have time.

update on my clutch, when it was cold as balls and I was on my e85 I had something that felt like clutch slippage. Well I have gone BT now, and I have Zero slipping issues, I am thinking that extreme cold had something to do with issue to be honest, cause I my self do not see how I can be putting down at least 50 more HP then I was before with no issue, and it has only been maybe in the 40's since I have been doing logs with no issues.

I've slipped again the past couple days. Wtf. Slips the first time it's truly cold, then clutch is fine for 2 months in subarctic temps. Warms up for 2 days then gets cold again and it's not fine again. Kinda pissed.

They are friction based systems after all; if they produced too much too fast, beginners and non clutch driving mother Fuckers would glaze it over in no time. Maybe it's just tempature based and add in the extra power, you've got a clutch that slips ? I don't know, just a shot in the dark really. I bet it's easier to over heat the 6 puck I've got now, not for beginners. I'm no clutch scientist, could just be a culmination of multiple factors. Fuck it.

I've been very careful about when I'm getting on it. I try to make sure I have some solid clutch work in and everything is nice and hot before getting on it now.

add me to the club. Finally got done with the BNR onstlal and Marco finishing the tune and then this happens. Lol. I get actual wheelspin in 3rd, but 4th/5th slips. Upon slipping, with foot on clutch, not pushing it down, noticed pedal starts to sink to the floor. Discovered this from another forum

View Single Post - Clutch Burning Under Hard Acceleration? - Corvette Forum

Looks like I see an ACT in my future. May wait to see if it stops when it warms up.

This is more related to BNR install, so its not in the same group as the rest of us with stock turbo. But I still feel your pain. I'm still slipping in 4th and we are at high 80s temp.

Mine still hasn't slipped since around new years. I'm not sure what helped... The degaze procedure, the week or so of no WOT afterwards, or the ongoing slight changes in driving style.

I think the moon aligned with a solar flare to screw up the throw out bearing on mazdaspeed vehicles only. Seriously, was like a month of everyone having issues and not much since. Mine has been fine for a month and it's been just as cold and shitty out.

I understand that. Just coming from a amount of power and given my low mileage stand point. FWIW tho, My clutch on the stock turbo a few weeks back would slip shifting into 4th from third and 4th to 5th... The revs would hang and then finally grab well after the clutch has been engaged and I never ride the clutch. On stock turbo, it started doing that with my power @ 282whp/309wtq.

I'm finally starting to get a little more aggressive with my driving, and even FFS'd the other day. The more I ride it hard, the better it seems to be in general when I first turn it on and its cold as fuck.

I'm going to add my shit because this car is pissing me off. I also slipped today after flashing to my e85 map for the first time in a few months. 1-4 seem solid even when FFS but punching it in 5th gear at like 3000-3200 rpm the damn thing slipped like i was reving in neutral. Here is the kicker, I did like 4 more 5th gear pulls within 40 miles and it never slipped again. What the fuck is going on? This can't be a clutch issue. It's not consistent enough. Maybe a rear main seal leak? I am 2012 with my mods in signature and have 39,000 miles.

sent while failing

I havent flashed my e85 tune yet but my clutch has not slipped on me since around the holidays. I also agree with spec on the ratcheting idea.
