Default dyno results

one is my print out from the dynojet today. the other is from last saturday on a dyno dynamics. pretty crazy differences, even though they didn't have a fan above the tmic so my bats hit 150. you can see why the dyno dynamics has the heart breaker tag. haha

Don't judge anything by the first graph, I posted that just to show what a difference it can be when they don't have a fan over the TMIC.

But the numbers might be slightly lower on the second graph due to smoothing 5? I noticed this place used smoothing 3 at the dc dyno day.

Has nothing to do with the fan, dyno dynamics are BS dynos. in the same day i dynoed on a Dyno Dynamics and a Dyno jet. Both shops had fans and on the Dyno Dynamics i put down 275 whp 360 wtq fully bolted on 50/50 E85. on the dynojet i put down 320 whp and 420 whp, i had recently beat my friends brothers Boss 302 mustang and i asked the guy with the dyno dynamcis how that could be possible when the boss makes like 400 whp stock. He then proceeded to tell me Ford was wrong and the boss couldn't be making more than 250 wheel to lose to me since i was only making 275 on his dyno... ok dude.

yes it does have a lot to do with the fan. for a forced induction, on a dyno, you don't get the air flow over the IC that you would normally have. as a result, your BATs sky rocket. when that happens, you lose power, a lot. to fix that and to try to provide a real world scenario, these shops have all sorts of fans blowing air to mimic as if you were going 60mph+. the problem was, they aimed the fan as if i had a FMIC. so i literally had NO air going over my TMIC or intake during the DD. so, my BATs were 150* +. so yes, while I agree 100% that DD's are hearth breakers, the fan had a lot to do with it. if the fan was set up right, i would have put ~250/~290 on the DD. the tuner at P Tuning said the order goes (higher to lower numbers): Dynojet > Mustang Dyno > Dyno Dynamics

on the Dynojet, the first pull was all gravy. But you'll noticed that the graph has three runs even though one is labeled "4". why? because on the second run i only hit 240/290 on the dynojet. the reason is they forgot to set up the fan over the TMIC and my BATs were sky high after the first pull. sure enough, once they got the fan over the TMIC for the last two pulls (3 and 4), everything was back to normal. in any event, i agree with you about DDs. sounds like the guy running the DD was a moron. on the DD i put down 232 as a stage 2. CLEARLY that is low given a stock MS3 at the crank is 260. on a DD, a stock MS3 must read like 180. i will say, i was told by multiple tuners that they prefer to tune on a MD or DD as opposed to a DJ though.

one last thing...my buddy has a supercharged S2K. he got it put on and tuned at P Tuning. that same Dyno Dynamics that read low for me read 305/200 for him. he came with me to the Dynojet spot and he got on. 285/190....

i was saying fans didn't matter in regards to the discrepancy between the 2 numbers. I misread your first post regarding the fans. Now that is odd for the S2k...

Now i know that Mazdas are typically load tuned, and one time i was at the Dyno (same Dyno jet i mentioned before that i always go to) and the guy didn't load the dyno properly so my car didn't develop power like it should. Fully bolted i put down something stupid like 250 whp haha, maybe thats what happened with your buddies S2k.

yeah that is entirely possible. and both dyno days were non-specific car days. so they had to change settings for every car. i wouldn't be surprised if something wasn't set properly.
