We are awaiting a new version of the catch can to test out but is taking longer than expected.

I don't have a date yet for the new design to be ready.

We will be checking out the catch can after roughly 800 miles on the test car at the end of this week to see how well it performed and comparing it to the data from the other two versions.

I'm curious as to how different these designs are. Is the media within the can different? Do you have check valves? Or an additional PCV valve? It's a pretty simplistic design.

The version we are testing now does not use media.



Instead, it has an inlet and outlet that are both tangent to the sidewall. This will basically spin the atomized oil out of the air as shown in the picture. Also, the low pressure created in the bottom will also help suck out any oil that may be trying to make it to your intake tract.

Instead, it has an inlet and outlet that are both tangent to the sidewall. This will basically spin the atomized oil out of the air as shown in the picture. Also, the low pressure created in the bottom will also help suck out any oil that may be trying to make it to your intake tract.

this is gonna get me ragged on butt..... once a occ is full if you do not empty it for to long does it just run the air through as if a occ wasn't installed. if this is not the case what would happen if you dont empty it often enough

You could potentially suck up a bunch of the crap up back into your IM. Especially if you went around a corner, and all the fluid tilted toward the hole. Probably not enough to hydrolock the motor, but it would really just negate the whole point of having the CC on there.
It's not that big of a deal to drain it. Just do it every oil change and you should be fine.

I was gonna buy the Matt Damond OCC... But if this is gonna be ready soon I'll wait for one of these... Aluminum would be great.. Ti is a bit much for something that you'll never see. Any projected release dates at this time??

I am using Matt's OCC. It's working very well for me.

Both are viable options. Time, however, may be a different concern to you.

We have the catch cans going in production. We went with the V3 low pressure type in aluminum.
